Pros: The setting, the cleanliness, the staff, the room (especially bathroom), the free wifi, the biscuits and the gym/pool.
Cons: Lose the self-closing element of the bedroom doors.
Location: In Congrebury itself there's a Butterfly House and a huge Wyvale garden centre. Further afield there's Weston Super Mare, Bristol and Cheddar.
We had a super welcome from the reception staff along with a warm cookie each - very nice touch. Our room was gorgeous - I'd say newly refurbished, with a delightful bathroom (we've just returned from a 3 week tour of California/Hawaii and we rated the bathroom better than any we stayed in there!). Large, soft, fluffy towels and toiletries provided. We could not fault the cleanliness - top marks to the housekeeping team. We had the usual TV (with all freeview channels), tea/coffee making facilities, and a hairdryer in the room but also free wifi, a safe and an iron/ironing board. Good air-con/heating once we'd worked out how to operate it! In order to access the gym/pool at 'The Club' you have to leave the hotel but it's literally a 3 minutes walk. The gym had lots of very up to date equipment and staff on hand to help if required. The pool was nice but full of kids at the time we chose to go - we should have left it later. The hotel is set in some nice gardens and there is a seating area by the pond which has a nice fountain in it. My one and only criticism would be that the heavy doors to the rooms are self closing and make a loud bang if not held when closed. Therefore, people leaving early tended to let their doors bang which woke those trying to sleep past 5am! Other than that - a totally fab stay.

Quite stylish but a let down

Posted 23-Aug-2015
First impressions were really good, stylish rooms but I found the bed so uncomfortable. It was really hard and I felt the spring system through the topping. Bathroom was lovely and shower was very powerful though but it still didn't make up for the bad night sleep

Lovely hotel, close to airport.

We arrived early so our room wasn't quite ready, we left our bags at reception and went for lunch at The Club. We then spent some time in the spa, lovely. When we went back to reception to collect our keys our bags had been taken to the room 😌. We were given delicious cookies as a welcoming treat, one of the reasons we keep coming back!!!! The rooms are comfortable and spacious with everything you would need. The restaurant is great, lovely staff, nice surroundings fab food!

Mini break

Posted 20-Aug-2015
Relaxing break, clean hotel with good food and atmosphere. Pull out bed in family room was not the most comfortable and the chlorine in the health club was inpleasantly strong to the point of having to leave the pool. It did seem to calm down a little the following day.

Good hotel and great staff to overcome a problem

Posted 11-Aug-2015
We had a lovely stay here. We did have a problem in the restaurant, but it was sorted out most professionally and all credit to Angie in the MPW steakhouse. I ordered a chicken curry, but it was dry and not very hot. When I complained the waitress said she had gone to the kitchen and it was all the same, would I like to order something else. I ordered the Lamb. I then spent the next 20 minutes watching my wife eat her dinner, which was lovely. Still waited some more, a waitress then appeared asking if we would like to order desserts. I first told her that I hadn't had my main course yet, but was fed up with waiting so I would just have a dessert. She rushed off to the kitchen and a minute later, Angie appeared with Lamb in hand, profusely apologising and asked me if I would accept the Lamb with their compliments. An excellent way to handle the situation, and of course I accepted. And the lamb was delicious! Of course now my wife had to sit and watch me eat my dinner! It would have been nicer to eat together, but Angies manner was excellent.

Views over the Severn Estuary and excellent dining

Posted 08-Aug-2015
Pros: Pool, dinner.
Location: quiet location in a country setting but relatively close to Bristol, Bath etc.
Spacious rooms with all the modern facilities expected of a quality hotel - free wi-fi, tea and coffee in the room, immaculate bathroom. Openable windows as well as air conditioning. The hotel is set in extensive grounds and there is plenty of parking. Dinner was excellent with a choice of 3 items per course on the (good value) set menu, plus the a la carte. Good buffet breakfast with friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool - large by hotel standards - in a separate spa building, with jacuzzi, steam room etc. Excellent customer service.

Very pleased

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: A freshly cooked option on the breakfast but if at the compromise of something else, then not needed. Just take the scrambled egg off the hot buffet!
Location: Bristol - short drive from the airport
We had a very late arrival at the hotel due to our travel plans (after midnight) but were still greeted at reception promptly and courteously. We ordered room service which was delivered promptly to our room. The room itself was a family room and albeit a bit of a tight fit with a large sofa bed as well as a double bed in there, it was spotlessly clean and tidy, including the bathroom. Breakfast the following morning was plentiful with a great deal of choice. The sausages on the hot buffet tasted locally sourced rather than pre-packed and processed (something we always look for) and the choice for hot and cold foods was superb. The staff (especially Kenny) were worth every penny, working hard to ensure all guests were catered for from the time they arrived in the restaurant. My only criticism was the scrambled egg which clearly does not like being sat on a hot plate. Perhaps offering a menu selection for things like this might work better. Overall, absolutely no complaints and I would readily stay again.

Relaxing break

Posted 21-Jun-2015
Pros: Beautiful grounds, cleanliness, comfort and hotel staff.
Cons: Sound proofing, the planes overhead were slightly annoying at night time.
Location: Beautiful location with lovely view across to Wales. Bristol is nearby aswell as the Mendip hills
My daughter and I came for a one night stay to relax and use the spa facilities. the hotel was fantastic, a stunning location and beautiful grounds. Lovely room with modern decor and very comfortable. the hotel facilities were excellent, we were met at the door buy a very cheerful and polite member of staff who took our bags to our room. The spa facilities were excellent and again the staff were very cheerful and helpful. We had a meal in the 'club' restaurant which was very good. The 'Lounge' was luxurious, where we had an evening drink and morning coffee. We had a lovely stay and will certainly come back again.
