The building was beautiful…the location was perfect—it made everything about the city so accessible. The staff were all so gracious and kind and helpful. We’d come back to stay there, anytime.

The hotel was lovely. But I found it difficult to sleep. Our room looked over the mezzanine so was quite noisy. We could hear people and sirens and shouting into the early hours of the morning so I really did not sleep well.

I asked for a feather free room for medical reasons. This was confirmed by helpful checkin staff. I woke in middle of night suffering and having to take medication. All pillows were feather. Housekeeping staff need to understand the conseuences of their failure. Recompense was supposed to be put in place but not yet received.

Very pleased with our stay. Close to centre of city and university. Facilities are super and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast.

Disappointing for a stay in a "Royal Suite"
Not up to scratch for a top-level suite despite a lovely feature lounge area. 11 empty bottles of beer/cider outside the door upon check-in (at 3pm), dated bathroom, uninteresting bedroom and worst of all: multiple hairs found around the suite and a dirty bathrobe hanging in the wardrobe. Coffee-tea provisions could have been more generous too. Gave feedback and received reply from the Night Manager apologising but offering no incentive or reassurances to return.

This is the third time in 12 months that I've styaed at the Marriott Royal, and as expected I've had another great stay. This is easily the best location in the city to stay, and I'd say the best hotel on offer.

New Year’s Eve celebration
A beautiful grade II listed building in the heart of Bristol. We stayed there for 1 night on New Year’s Eve. Everything was amazing, apart from having extremely noisy neighbours all night long, and some black mould in the bath/shower enclosure. Besides these issues, it was a very pleasant stay.

Christmas Stay 2023
We stayed at Christmas time and the hotel is so beautifully decorated! Lovely hotel, no faults at all! We were given complimentary parking at the check-in which was completely unexpected & the staff were lovely. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented even as a buffet style, food was well cooked…Coffee could of been better Hotel is beautifully kept, and in a decent area of the city. Only thing would be the bed, mattress wasn’t the greatest but then think it depends on your preference. Would recommend
