Look out on parking. They got like 15 spaces for 12floors hotel....so first u ll pay extra 15€ and u cant reserve space....soo it can be a drag. It is one of those hotels with old fame gone and they fighting to stay on surfuce. Still good value for money if u pay 70 pound for a double room.
"A great hotel & lovely staff. Watch out for extras"
The hotel itself was beautifully maintained with a very high level of service, and impeccably clean (ours was cleaned more than once a day if we were out!).
The staff were lovely, especially Mercedes who worked relentlessly!
The only slight souring moment was at the end when we were presented with the bill. We'd been given an upgrade which we'd not asked for - but I don't believe this was done purposefully - I think it was just lost in translation when we checked in. Just be careful to be very clear if you don't want the upgrade. There was also a 'city tax' - again, not put on by the hotel but the city who will charge up to 6EURO per night. This will add up over longer stays. In addition, the drinks are VERY expensive: we didn't check the price and were charged 8EURO for a small bottle of Becks, and 9EURO for a Campari. With parking (20EURO a night - and 36EURO if you don't join their Loyalty Scheme), the upgrade, the city tax and two rounds of drinks, our additional bill for the 5 night stay was 269EURO.
Despite this, I can't fault the staff, the cleanliness, standards or location, all of which were top-notch.
This hotel provided a nice room good breakfast and was well located for easy access to the city centre. Would go back. The lift to the higher floors was amazing and should be listed as a hotel feature.
The man who checked us in was very polite, he even remembered that my mum rang the hotel to ask about the twin beds 4 months prior! he offered to take our luggage which was nice. We were given a map and the man politely explained everything and wrote things down on the map to indicate bus routs for us.
As soon as you walk in you get the ahh this is so clean feeling! is was so fresh that the bathroom floor was slightly wet as it had just been mopped. There was a day that we had been out all day, and when we came back the room had been cleaned, curtains had been drawn and the shutters had been closed to keep the room cool for when we got back. I thought that was nice, the lady could have just cleaned up and left the windows for us to come back to a hot room, so it was a nice touch.
The TV had a lot more channels (over 300 I think) then other 3 star hotels I'd been to which was nice. a couple of programs are even shown in English.
They make good coffee in the morning for breakfast.
There are 2 supermarkets 30 sec - 1 min away and you get a fridge in your room! this is handy as you can get bits and bobs.
The sea front is about a 4 min walk, transport links to the port, the center and the station is 9-20 min away by bus, depending on were you want to go. bus is only 1 euro and 50 cents single.
cab only cost 20 euros to the airport (10 each)
I would definitely recommend this hotel and If I go to Genova again I will definitely stay at this hotel
"Good accommodation close to rail and town centre"
The hotel was surprisingly a close walk to the rail and to the town hub. Could not fault the staff and the hotel presentation. We enjoyed the convenience of walking to the station and the nearby eating choices.
