Great family hotel that is very central

Posted 31-Aug-2017
Pros: Odd socks restaurant was very good
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: The Lanes are a must visit. Brilliant, diverse, exciting.
Great place to stay. Staff were very friendly, and obliging. Family room has an extra bed that is permanent not an extra to turn it into a family room. Would definitely stay there again.

excellent location

The location was perfect. The hotel is next to the train station and a short walk from all the best places to visit. The room was comfortable and quiet. I had absolutely no problems apart from a dirty shower curtain from check-in to check out. The shower curtain was swiftly changed. I recommend this hotel when visiting Brighton.

Not very good

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Stayed here for one night in August 2017, and even at the discount rate of £60, I didn't feel it was worth the cost. Check-in was stressful, and I had to wait around 15 mins in a queue due to a lack of service staff (and those that were there operating very slowly). The room itself was okay - although lacking in amenities (no fridge or safe etc.) - but there's a huge problem with the room's doors that slam shut very loudly based on the way they're built. Thus, I was kept awake most of the night as the noise of room doors slamming literally shook the walls and foundations of my room, and woke me up every time. The shower was awful too. I'm all for eco friendly options, but this was a complete dribble - and they'd shut off the override / power shower option. The TV remote barely worked and was so unresponsive I ended up using buttons on the monitor itself. The list goes on. In a nutshell, your £60 (or likely more) would be better spent elsewhere.

Lovely hotel close to town centre

Excellent hotel. Staff on reception excellent. Only downfall is that we queued at the bar for some time waiting for a drink in the evening.

1 night stay for T20 boys catch up

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Pros: clean, comfortable
booked this place for one night, two twin rooms for 4 guys, keenly priced and other similar priced hotels had poor reviews. location a bit of a walk to the front and to the cricket ground but we reasoned as we were catching up with each other, we would chat whilst walking or stop for a beer, so for us location was ok and I'd rather stay here in better hotel than a horrible one on the front.clean rooms, and big enough for me and my 3 friends so all good. we paid separately for breakfast which was ok for value.

Nice hotel apart from the hill to the seafront

It was an amazing experience to be in Brighton since I have not been in there in 35 years and it was an amazing time to spend with my daughter and we spent most of the time on the pier and the food at the hotel was good and the staff were real nice
