    Could have been better

I was a little disappointed in the property. Not what I thought it would be. No lift. Bathroom was not great. Restaurant was great both in terms of food and service. Front desk staff were great when we arrived and at checkout but in between there were no hellos or good mornings or good afternoon on any of the days we were there.

AVOID IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP & MANAGER IS RUDE

I'll start with the positives - the hotel is lovely, comfy beds, nice clean rooms etc, MOST of the staff were lovely to us and they allow dogs in certain rooms which is great! Fri night we were kept awake with the noise outside, we got in at midnight but there were loud drunk people in the street until the early hours. Sat night we had more than a few tequilas so slept really well. Our final night (Sunday) after being out all day attempted to go to sleep about 10.30pm. However, every half an hour the fire door connecting our room to the main corridor would open and slam shut. I'll add that there was only two rooms on this side of the fire door (ours and another) Finally at 2.45am I opened our door & the fire door to see what was going on, I then let the fire door shut as I couldn't see anything and as it was closing a lady in office wear opened the door of the room next to us, I asked her if she worked there (I was confused by her attire at 2.45am) she said no, so I asked if she knew what all the slamming of the doors was about, she said it must be people walking past and that she had just finished work. I went to inform the manager the next morning only to have the whole situation turned around on me, apparently as a guest I was in the wrong (for opening the door of my own room!?) & I should have gone to the night porter. The "regular" in the next room's partner had complained that I had spoken to her in the middle of the night. Said regulars also smoked weed in their room!
