Beautiful room and incredible food. The hotel and staff were very dog friendly and the hotel is right next to the beach. Will definitely stay there again!

Old pub, room nicely decorated and huge. Very quiet as pub part closed for the winter. Parking convenient and safe. Only one minute to the East beach and close to local restaurants. Breakfast was a bit basic, although full range on offer, no toast offered with omelette, although brought when asked for.

We had a lovely couple of days at the West Bay hotel. Shaun could not have been more helpful, the room was amazing, and the breakfasts were excellent. Amazing value.

A nice hotel in a great location right on the beach with good parking in a safe area. Nice friendly staff with a chatty and pleasant chef. Dog friendly. The breakfast was excellent served by a super helpful young guy who did all he could to make our breakfast great. We really liked it. For a south coast beach hotel, this one ticks all the boxes.

We had a lovely long weekend stay. Ensuite room was lush with everything you need. Breakfasts were great and the staff super friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach and great for exploring the area and Chesil beach.

The location is amazing and rooms just exquisite. We loved the space we had, Sean went out of his way to make us welcome. It's not often you find such lovely hotels allowing dogs so we were really pleased. Great value for money. We'll be back and can highly recommend.

The room was nice and large and well heated. The windows must be original as they let a lot of the (howling) wind through. We had a private bathroom which really means a shower room at the end of the hall. A little TLC is needed but the hotel has good parking and is well situated.

There are a lot of positives about this hotel. Relaxed easy feeling, very good local food which was just what we were hoping for, a large room. A couple of little things could have made the stay more comfortable - I was surprised the room wasn't freshened up on the middle day so no nice neat bed and the dirty coffee cups were there for the duration. The kettle couldn't reach the plug so you had to use it on the floor which could be tricky for less agile visitors. As the bathroom was down the corridor perhaps a simple robe would be a bit better than a towel for going to and fro. But lovely staff and I would go again as these are only small points.

Not being able to enter the hotel until checking in time. After arriving I had to call from the car park to see if I could park as there was a sign saying clamping, I thought it could have been more helpful to customers arriving a bit earlier.

Very happy customers
We had a great overnight stay at the West Bay Hotel. The room and bathroom were enormous and both very well presented. The bed was similarly large and very comfortable. We had a meal and a couple of drinks in the bar and were very happy with the care that went into them - some delicious looking fish specials on the menu the night we were there. The breakfast was similarly very well thought through, plenty of choice and they were happy to swap some ingredients around to meet our needs. Finally, parking was very easy, plenty of spaces and directly opposite the hotel front door. Very happy to recommend.

Not a good experience overall.
West Bay is closed !! Major flood defence work. The hotel is still advertising sea view - it faces a gravel pile and will never have a sea view again . Hotel friendly, attentive but inefficient service by all staff - need basic training - and stop calling everyone of any age - guys ! Food good , wine list extensive but priced up 5 bottles and markup is 300% - too high. Breakfast poor - pieces of fruit, fruit juice but not replenished. Average cooked breakfast - had to ask for spoon, salt , sauce , butter , sugar - not good. Room should have had sea view - didn't ! NoisyBuilding works opposite the room started at 7:00am. Window lock seized so stuffy, no double glazing , cleanliness could have been better in bathroom. Comfortable bed and large rooms. Check with hotel as to when work finishes. Some boards say Winter 2019.
