Second visit to Polden cottage, and just as good as we remembered. We traveled a little further afield this time to visit Weymouth (1and 3/4 hours) but well worth it to see the beautiful beach. All at the cottage was excellent, spotlessly clean, and well equipped. Already looking to book again.

A recently refurbished, clean and comfortable cottage all as described on the web page. Contained all you needed for you stay even a steel for sharpening your kitchen knives. One of the settees was very uncomfortable. the main problem was the lack of information on the outside space in the description. The cottage is attached to a pub, this did not cause a lot of problems but could be noisy at times. The description states that the patio area is ideal for alfresco dining!!! The area is a 4m x 5m concrete slab with a one meter picket fence around it which is all that separates it from the very large pub car park. The cottage has two windows both of which also look out over the car park so basically all you look at is a car park. The lack of information on the web page seems to be designed to mislead by omission. The lack of external photographs should have been a warning.

Great location, a little gem. Ideal for visiting Wells, Cheddar, and Glastonbury. The cottage has all the facilities you could ever need, including a fabulous pub next door, which serves great food , make sure you book a table as it’s gets very busy. Easy checking /out and Lorna was always available whatever we needed. Can’t wait to visit again.

We had a lovely stay, the cottage was clean, beautifully decorated, and well equipped. Communication with Host Lorna was excellent, and the Duck pub next door had fantastic food and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay again as it is a short drive to Glastonbury, Cheddar and other attractions.

We found Polden Cottage to be just perfect for our anniversary stay with our little Yorkie. The cottage has everything you need and the bed is real comfy too! Being next door to a pub ended up being a real bonus as we ended up eating there twice, and no worries about how to get home!. Would definitely highly recommend and will stay again. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Polden Cottage Is great for two people. Spacious one room downstairs with well equipped kitchen attractive dining table and two sofas, the leather one being comfortable and roomy. Excellent TV. Bedroom equally spacious with comfortable bed and pillows. Luxurious shower room. The cottage is not pretty to look at outside, and is basically in the pub car park. All round a lovely weekend. Wells, Glastonbury, Street all close by, and plenty of lovely walks and nature reserves. Outlet shopping at Clark’s Village a huge money saver. Highly recommended.

This cottage was so much more than we expected! You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Very comfortable bed, dvds & player, books, toilet paper & so much more all supplied for use. A must stay for anyone! Noisy pub car park next door was only issue but nothing to do with the cottage whatsoever. Many thanks for a lovely break!

It was the best cottage we have been too it was like home from home

Spent a few days in this well presented cottage. Nice quiet village location & although next to a gastro pub this was not an issue. The cottage provided us with everything we needed to enjoy our break👌🏻We certainly look forward to returning for a longer stay next time as it is conveniently situated for exploring lots of the surrounding area's.

Compact but not small. Clean. Easy to find. No hassle from the pub (which does excellent food) clientele. A good place to chill out.

Polden cottage is a perfect self catering get away for a short break, its a really cosy welcoming place to stay. Beautifully kept and was spotless when we arrived. A large number of electricals are provided, radio, washing machine, plug on heater if it's chilly, vacuum hair dryer ect (super helpful as i forgot mine). It is attached the the village pub, the duck. The cottage is surprisingly sound proof, especially upstairs so our sleep wasn't bothered on saturday when they uad some live music next door. We could hear it downstairs bit it wasn't loud enough to be bothersome. We ate there two nights of the 4, it is a bit pricier than some but the food was delicious and the staff were lovely. On our second visit they were chatting to us like we were regulars. The location is very rural, but only a short 30 min trip to cheddar or the coast. And just under an hr to bath and bristol park and rides. There's also a number of short walks to do in tue village and surrounding area which is worth it because it is such a beautiful place! The cottage owner is really friendly and helpful, not only with dealings directly about tue cottage but also giving us sughestions on what there was to do. Over all we had a really relaxing, enjoyable weekend away and wished it could have lasted a few more days!

The cottage was fitted out to a high standard very clean and truely a loverly place to stay. The pub next door served great food although limited for choice. A great place to explore what Somerset has to offer. But and there is always a but we had the neighbors from hell very noisy and yapping dog and not a thought for anybody else. We decided to leave early. Is that the owners fault no of course not. Would I stay again yes I would and maybe just maybe.we would have some nice neighbors.

The property had everything and more that was needed for a short break. A well equipped modern property with enough parking on the pub car park. The place was immaculate and we would have no hesitation in booking again. It was next to a pub serving great food and it was nice to be able to finish the day by having a drink without needing to drive anywhere. I would highly recommend this property.
