Pros: the rooms are great
Cons: staff training . Update rooms with current electronics, IPADs, smart tv, It would have been easier for me to order room service on line.
Location: spirit sands provincial park is amazing
Terrible service, but great rooms. Staff seemed very unprofessional, bantering back and forth "i'm so bored" etc. The rooms are spacious and clean you can hear your neighbors muffled conversations, they they have a restaurant on site, however the room services is terrible. 60 min to get nachos.

My apologies for your issues with staff service on your recent stay including the long wait time for your room service. We are also limited with the amount of technology that we can put in the rooms in Brandon because of the cable providers not being able to support some of the advanced technology you would see in some centers. I am glad you enjoyed the room and the provincial park and I hope to see you again at the Clarion Hotel & Suites.

Housekeeping

Cons: The brand of coffee. The amount of disposable products.

The suite was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only complaint that I have is with the Housekeeping and the cut backs in amenities. I returned home for a special event and rented a suite to host a few friends. Expecting it to be rather loud at times I did mention this to the front clerk upon check in and requested a few extra chairs and wine glasses. They did an excellent job of fulfilling our request and did politely remind us at the 11th hour of which we abided by. So the issue is this. 1. All the dirty glasses were placed on the tray to be removed and when we returned they were still there along with an ice bucket that hadn't been emptied. The clean glasses that we had requested were lined up along the tiny sink in front of the dirty glasses. A small thing but assuming it's policy not to touch things then I would have thought common sense would have taken over. 2. Why is there only one mirror in the whole suite. A bathroom mirror does not accommodate others trying get to get ready at the same time. 3. The amount of disposable cups and glasses cheapens the quality of a hotel of the calibra. Just my thoughts. Thank you very much for the review Gwen. I do apologize for the Full length mirror being missing in the room. We are renovating the rooms in the tower currently and have completed wallpaper, and have ordered new full length mirrors with the new furniture package that is going in each room. As for the housekeeping issues I will address them directly with the Housekeeping Manager. I am glad that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the room and the beds, as well as we were able to make sure you had an enjoyable time with your friends.

Sorry for the issues you had during your stay. I will address the service issues with both the Restaurant and Front Desk Managers. We are working through a renovation right now to bring the hotel up to a better standard, in fact we replaced carpets in 11 rooms last week. Don't go for the waterslide

Bed was good , no tub for a soak after a long drive , and they turn off the hot tub daily so it's uncomfortably cool ( a hour after I asked for it to be turned up), they are trying to save money it would appear so very little water rubs in the waterslide - kids have to push themselves out and that was my 45lb 7 yr old. Room coffee is cheapest money can buy but if you use both packets at once it is drinkable. The tv remote didn't work , once fixed I could work it 1 ft from the tv but not from my bed ,bed lamp didn't work; I had confirmed 2xs the pool use hrs - I was told 9 am but that is when pool cleaning and matainance started so about 11 of us sat waiting for 30 mins to use the facility. Left feeling as a paying inconvenience not a " Guest", marg

Very clean

Cons: Desk and cleaning staff great. Restaurant and lounge staff and service were horrible. Had to hunt waitresses down to order and again for more drinks
Were very according for early and late checking in/out due to medical appointments.

Good time in Brandon

Nice hotel, not very impressive from the outside, could hardly tell where the main entrance was, but it was clean and modern on the inside. Rooms were of good size, and were clean. We really enjoyed the water slide and pool area, it was a lot of fun with the kids (pre-teens) and it was clean and a good temperature.

Hotel changed chains

The clarion took over the royal oak so they do not offer continental breakfast anymore. Across from Houstons bar, so loud, drunk people coming home from bar. Pool view rooms on 2nd floor very loud. Thought we were getting poolside rooms when I booked and received " poolside rooms." Rooms very nice and reasonable price. Nice pool and waters life for kids.

Check-in was quick. Front desk service was prompt when we called down and needed something brought up. Bad thing-- seating in the restaurant was very slow due to short staff on a Monday of long weekend.
