DeSalis Hotel London Stansted

"Friendly welcome at this hotel in a beautiful green area of Stansted. The hotel bar / restaurant is modern with some tasty pieces of art and decor. An amazing mural which really keeps you pondering. ( I’m still thinking about it) The room was adequate, clean enough. Bedding and towels spotless so for the price of the room at this prime location to the airport well worth it. A bit tired, needs updating ( which seemed to be happening in areas) We had dinner there. Food was fine, ice not available as machine wasn’t working and in a g&t definitely necessary for me. Barman did his best but as he was also checking people in, taking food orders, waiting in tables, managing the bar AND carrying cases up to people’s rooms he was damn good. I would definitely stay again but in the hope there was a bag of ice in the kitchen freezer. Little things like this can make for a more pleasant experience for the nervous flier! We left too early (3 a.m) to try the breakfast. Overall, an excellent price for easy access to airport."

"Immaculate room. Tasty breakfast served with a smile from Jeanie. Couldn’t get closer to the airport. My only sort of criticism was that we appeared to have to queue at the bar in the evening for a drink which the customers did, but the staff ignored !!!"

"This was our 6th stay at The Essex and we never have any complaints. The rooms are good size and have been recently refurbished. The location is nice and quiet, with a nice walk round the local airfield"

"Love this hotel. Ideal for me as I'm a regular visitor to London for the football, I find this hotel an ideal base being so close to the airport. My wife travels with me and we find everything about this hotel is just right, the staff are super friendly which is the biggest plus of all. If only my team were as accommodating at keeping me happy."

"Absolutely beautiful hotel and lovely staff. You are made to feel valued and welcome from everyone. The housekeeping staff are non intrusive, efficient and respectful of your privacy. The pub stuff are phenomenal, excellent and quick service with perfectly made cocktails. The breakfast/dining room is beautiful. The food is fresh, served quickly and the host and serving staff are kind and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about the ladies at reception. They were so helpful with my package deliveries trying to get my son set up at uni. They laughed along with me at the ridiculous packaging I would receive and were so gracious, thoughtful and helpful. The owners of this hotel and their guests are incredibly lucky to have such amazing staff to look after them. With more trips to Colchester coming, this will be my choice every time. I look forward to their welcoming smiles and a perfectly made espresso martini! Thank you so much for turning a difficult and stressful trip into a fantastic experience. Truly one of a kind!"

"I think this place has potential. It did it's job for me, somewhere to stay for a night close to Stansted Airport on a bus route that runs late I to the night as I was on a late arriving flight. Price is very reasonable to alternative accommodation, the accommodation is clean, it just needs some minor cosmetic repairs doing in the room. Perhaps an automated email could be sent to people staying the night reminding them of the check in process and how to find the accommodation, as the reception desk is not staffed."
