We loved staying at the hotel and we had our 3 year old with us, There was no sound on the night, and the black out curtains helped our 3 year old sleep. The room was was very big and clean so there was enough room for us all. The staff were very helpful and always there if you needed them. There is a area that has toys for children whcih kept our child entertained as we checked in. I would definetly stay

Worn but Worth it !
We arrived early, which proved no problem to the helpful and knowledgeable staff. Overall the hotel was clean but looking a little dated. A good supply of Tea and Coffee was available. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Like many hotel rooms now there was no main light, just lamps, which I find a bit dreary. The attached spa was ok with a nice jacuzzi and warm pool. But like the main building it was a bit 'worn'. Take your own towel or pay for use. There was also no working lockers. A decent pub serves food just over the carpark. £7 breakfast was basic but good value. Juice, coffee, cereal and cooked.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, our heating works on a timer to come on around the time of check-in. We are sorry you had an issue with the Wifi, not sure if this was mentioned to the reception or on the duty manager's phone number we provide when you check in. If so we do try our best to get all customers signed in. As this is an unsecured network available to the full hotel some devices will not let you sign in due to the security set up on your device. We hope these things did not spoil your trip and for future stays, if there are any issues throughout your stay please let us know so we can rectify them ASAP :)

Really good hotel
Our stay at The Highfield was really good. The staff and service was great. Facilities in the room were basic, room size good, but tiny toilet with broken seat, tiny TV for size of room, sofa bed comfortable to sleep, but had definitely seen better days. Sofa bed arms stained, door looked like it had been punched as some paint coming off and wood a bit cracked, and marks along wall behind single beds (didn't affect room, just a bit unsightly). That said, as previously mentioned, the staff and service absolutely made our trip. It was a bit expensive for the state of the room, but I would recommend to others, as staff were so helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely hotel to stay with really friendly staff
Booking in was easy, the room was clean, big and good facilities, the wifi didn’t work in my room. The bathroom was overall clean but the grouting needed attention, plenty of towels. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The pool was lovely the jacuzzi was lovely and warm, though the water needed a clean. The communal carpets needed a clean, it was a lovely quiet hotel, despite a pub next door. It was reasonably priced, I would recommend it and ill would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for taking the to leave us a review.We are sorry that we were not able to come to a satisfactory conclusion to your complaint. However, once the issue was reported to us, it was looked into promptly, but the issue could not be resolved in a timely manner and the guests were promptly moved rooms. We understand that this can be frustrating, but when an issue arises like this it is no fault of the individual dealing with the complaint or the business at hand.To ensure the guests had sufficient hot running water, we promptly moved them to an alternate room only 2 doors down from their previous room of occupation. With us being near fully booked, there were no like-for-like rooms available (Twin rooms with 2 Single Beds), an upgrade was provided to a Family Room with a King Size bed and a Single bed.A full refund was also provided for the use of the facilities, for any inconvenience caused by the swimming lessons, which a timetable is clearly posted in the hotel and leisure centre. - The sauna is in full working order, at present the only facility closed is our Steam Room. Our gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were open as normal for all guests to enjoy.As a room upgrade was provided for the issues risen, we were not able to provide any monetary refund for this evening's stay. However, as a goodwill gesture, a discount was offered for the future bookings you initially had booked with us and free access to the leisure facilities.

We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay with us. Without a name or room number, it is difficult to correct any mistakes on our part. All of our laundry is cleaned by an external laundrette and then checked over by our staff when making up the beds, therefore I can assure you the bedding was not dirty. When checking in you are given a duty manager's telephone for you to call if there are any issues throughout your stay, nothing was mentioned regarding hot water or any other issues. Again without us knowing where you stayed, it is difficult for the maintenance team to look at the issue and correct it. We would appreciate it if you could ether message us through Expedia and give us more information or via email direct to the hotel.

The room was nice enough, just needs a spruce up. The mattress was very soft and the shower head had about 3 jets working. Once I cleaned the head, most of the jets worked

Night in Shipley
We stayed in a triple family room which was very spacious. The room was very clean though a little dated perhaps.Beds were comfortable, bedding and towels were spotless and there was plenty hot water. Hairdryer was a great addition. Staff were friendly and the corridors were much more up to date than the rooms. The only downside to our stay was breakfast. It looks as though it was an after thought. Attention to detail was certainly lacking. The mini fridge was in need of a good clean and made us wonder what the kitchen was like . The tea and coffee jars looked dirty and more b&b than hotel spec. The fact the staff wore no uniform or even an apron was off putting. Seeing the chef come out in a grubby tshirt was also unprofessional. It felt as though the fact we wanted breakfast was an inconvenience. Times are hard, i understand that, but waiting staff should have a basic uniform, even matching tshirts, and chef most certainly a clean apron. Pethaps the manager should help himself to breakfast once in a while .

Sadly, we have been advised to remove all bath mats from our rooms and replace them with non-slip strips. According to Health & Safety officers, they have been proven to be more of a hazard than a help. Hence why we are now no longer allowed to provide them. We are in the process of adding additional handrails to our rooms for customers' assistance. We hope you visit again and see some of the improvements we are making. Kindest Regards

The pool and sports facilities are not free unless you book directly through the hotel. Apparently this is a new thing as the last several times ive stayed here all facilities were free. I was very disappointed when i was told this considering how much I'd already paid for my stay.
