The hotel is really good and I would of rated it excellent if it wasn’t for the dirty pool area. The pool itself is great but lots of litter being left from the day before. Not enough bins around the pool area.

The pool area is nice and the room is large, but the furniture in the room does not belong in a five-star hotel. Very outdated, very ugly. I also had to wait one hour past my check in time for my room to be ready and got no apology or anything from the front desk. They did not show any concern. Food in the buffet was ok.

I was initially quite excited for our stay (I travelled with my mum and my brother), however it turned out that it was not that great after all. Let me start with the good points - the food was amazing! Great diversity and suler tasty and fresh, also the staff in the restaurant were veru polite, with exeption of one extremely miserable woman who told my mum off for taking a couple of fruits on the terrace on the lobby and 5 minites later ingnored ankther tourit who had a whole plate of food at the pool. The room was dirty(video peoof available with dry yellow liquid on the toilet seat, thick dust on the furniture, broken glass on the balcony and actual mould in the shower cubicle... Most of the staff there look as if they do not like their job and the way the speak to you is unacceptable! Manners people, manners will take you a long way!! The pool was lacking beds and umbrellas die to covid they said which was understandable. Location is good but prepare to pay for your parking. In my opinion this hotel should be awarded no more than 3 stars!

I was appalled at the room we were given. I had booked a studio suite with a king size bed. This turned out to be in a semi deserted block at the end of the shopping mall attached to the hotel. It was scary going there in the dark each night, taking the lift to the 3rd floor, which was also deserted and dimly lit. As for the king sized bed, it turned out to be two old wooden single beds pushed together. Not attractive and certainly not comfortable. The reception staff and manager listened but refused to change us and as we were two females (my daughter and I), we felt let down and vulnerable being in a different building to the main hotel.

Please note that all the studios are located in the side sections of our complex. All sections are with direct access to the pool and garden area, the Pool Bar, the Sports Bar, the Lobby, the Reception, and the Buffets. Our complex is a closed one and our Security department is controlling the access through a key card system and monitoring all the premises through a video surveillance system. The common areas are illuminated with motion-sensor lamps and we are sorry if you didn't feel safe as the safe stay of all our clients is one of our main priorities. Please be kindly assured that our Reception Manager is striving to satisfy the requests of all our clients as soon as such a possibility exists. Still, at the beginning of September, our complex has had a high level of occupancy. We are sorry that you were not pleased with the bedding, your comment will be certainly taken into consideration by the Management team. good hotel. The reception hardly answerd the phone. One of them was rude and yelled at me not to call there and hunged up on me. So i went all the way to reception to get soap because the house keeping did not leave us few days!

The weather was normal ,the service rooms nit good at understedmind not answering any questions or the phone the not gives keys for the room if you forgot your key in the room no towels afternoon the food not testing not clean but the local and the view from our room was excellent

Don't ruin your holiday, stay away!!!
I spend on average about 70 -100 nights a year in hotels for work & holidays for 20 years now. I'd like to think I know what should be expected of 4/5 star hotels from a guest perspective. This is the first time I'm leaving a review because the experience my family I and had was so awful, it literally ruined our holiday. Firstly, the transfer we arranged with the hotel was 1 hour late to greet us at the airport on arrival, this is fine and I understand traffic delays had led to this, but when I rang the hotel to find out what had happened I spoke to the rudest reception staff I've ever, literally telling me I'd made a mistake and there is no way I could have made travel arrangements with the hotel, then proceeding to hang up on me...4 times! Finally we were about to get into a taxi when the driver arrived and explained the traffic issue. Other key issues experienced at the hotel. Cleanliness throughout the room, dirty and stained curtains, nets curtains, bed sheets and sofa furniture. Basin leaking and not repaired 4 days, which meant having water spraying on our legs each time the taps were turned on, room not being cleaned on 3 occasions, towels not being replaced repeated even when room is cleaned and old towels are collected, we literally had to ask for toilet roll everyday because they wouldn't replace them, each time we speak to house keeping or reception they make us walk to them to collect basic amenities. We begged the manager for a new room, no help at all!!!

Please accept our apology if the transfer from the airport to Barcelo Royal Beach was not performed on time. Till this moment, we haven’t received similar comments by a guest of ours and we are sorry that you didn’t report it at that very day so we could investigate what was the root of the issue and take the corrective measures needed. In addition to that, our Reception is the face of the complex in front of our guests and we are sorry if your experience when being attended was negative at any moment. Our staff's service and kindness are one of our main strengths and we are quite disappointed to hear that you felt we underperformed in this area. Nevertheless, we will not fail to share your comments with our head of department for information and further revision. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the imperfections with the maintenance of the unit, all rooms assigned for new arrivals are per standard double-checked by our team to ensure that everything is functional and spotless for our guests. We are sorry that in your case you have suffered such an inconvenience with the basin, please note that the Maintenance staff tried to react as soon as possible, still, the repair took more time than we expected and we fully appreciate your cooperation. Moreover, we do apology if the cleaning was not at the expected level. We have taken good note of your remarks related to the cleanliness of the unit and these have been shared with the Housekeeping Manager so no further similar issues occur in the future. Really nice hotel and friendly staff. Food 7 becsuse some of the items were overcooked, great variety. Staff friendly despite of cultural differences and helpful. Missing a bit more of entertainment and night show. Indoor swimming pool not heated , really cold to enjoy.

the hotel itself is very nice and clean and rooms are cleaned daily. the staff, on the other hand, are stone useless. when we checked in we were asked for our passports which were not a problem and we were told we could collect the next day. when we went to collect the passports they told us they could not find our passports and they did not know where there were. we then realized that they mixed up our passports with our friends' passports. the next day we were then asked for proof of payment even though we had paid at check-in, they wanted proof as it was not updated on the system. why was this not updated straight away? the second day came and we wanted to have a shower and we then realized that the shower was blocked. we rang reception and they said they would send someone but did not know how long it would be. 2 hours passed and I went down to reception and asked again and still the same answer, we don't know how long. I asked again the 3rd time and no one ever came to fix our shower. we had to time the showers that we had to shower so quick that the shower didn't overflow. so overall the hotel, in general, is nice but the staff are 100% useless

This ain’t a 5 star hotel as Expedia day it is. It’s a 2 star hotel. Very disappointed! Don’t waste your money! I would recommend you look at other hotels. Sunny beach area is fun and lovely and I will go back but not this hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is location but that is it. Rude hotel staff, damp smell in the room, a stinking smell in the hallway to your room! We arrived and the room look that they gave us look like the cleaners had no interest when preparing the room for our arrival! Old bed linen, no toilet paper and dirty cups. Eating in the restaurant is like eating out in Camden! It’s crazy. Filthy tables! You have to clear your own table and if you ask the people working there they will scream at rudely. Cold food. Pizza, chips, spaghetti, the usual stuff you will find in a 2 star budget hotel in Blackpool. The coffee machine was so dirty. You will be shock to experience this ain’t a 5 star resort! I accidentally visit the spa, which is a building site. They was stil operating! They should have closed the spa! It was not safe and dust and cement everywhere. Not even a locker to put your stuff in! They just placed it in a old dirty cupboard. My massage was so badly done, I would have received a better massage in SoHo. The pool areas, was okay but don’t live up to the 5 star standard. You will swim with plastics lying around. Plastic cups left all over the pool area. And if the life guard don’t come and push you off the sun lounger at 6

Breakfast sometimes a bit disorganised. Food, delph and cutlery not always restocked when they ran out and on quite a number of occasions had to ask staff for cups, spoons, english tea bags and bread for toasting. Hot food was just ok and the availibility of different fruits and jams varied each day.

Great hotel
The staff were incredible. They were friendly and helpful whilst working 16hr days and dealing with customers showing no respect. I didn't particularly like the other guests. Loud, large, rude and wasting so much food at the buffet. There should be some sort of measure in place as the amount of uneaten food left of the plates for the staff to clean up was shocking. Location is good, next to the beach with plenty of shops around. Not much for sightseeing though.

We had a fabulous one night all inclusive stay in this hotel. The apartment was very specious and clean. Pool view from 4th floor was amazing. Would highly recommend Barcelo.

Drink dispensers had lots of mould and only half cleaned when they were advised, in fact they just shrugged when they were told about them. Bar staff acted like you were invisible as didn't serve you for ages despite no other customers. Room not cleaned and housekeeping just pulling the duvet over, not even sorting sheets. Food plain, nothing really exciting and only luke warm, not kept hot. Dining staff rude and often ignored you if asking for help. Plates and cups need to be inspected as many were dirty still. Meant to be entertainment but no one appeared of a night time! Pool cold and so was the 'heated indoor pool' would not ever return to this hotel.

Regarding the cuisine, our Chef's team strives to satisfy the taste of each of our guests by offering Spanish, French, Asian, International and local dishes and we are sorry to read that the variety was not sufficient as per your point of view. In addition to that, all trays of our buffets are being constantly checked by our kitchen staff to ensure that the temperature of the food is adequate and that all options are being replenished throughout all services. Nevertheless please rest assured that your comments will be shared with the team so as to avoid receiving this kind of feedback in the future. Regarding the pool temperature, the internal pool is maintained at 26.6 degrees so our clients could choose the pool that suits best their preferences. In relation to the cleaning, please in future occasions do not hesitate to contact the Reception desk in order to share your comments so the chambermaid in charge could receive your feedback and the issue could be resolved right away. Large rooms, great pools.
Appreciate we stayed towards the end of the season, but the management of the rooms was not up to standard, dust everywhere, sheets were not changed in the 9 days we were there. Had to grab the chambermaid when we eventually saw her to change the towels. No replenishment of bathroom shower/shampoo. Breakfast was lovely and had a great variety to choose from. Sunbed mattresses were soiled and dirty, pool outside was freezing cold even on a hot day.

Good location, but hotel ok
The hotel is huge and I think they've lost control of the maintenance of the hotel. The rooms are nice, however: - the beds are insanely hard and hurt my back - the pillows are just bags filled with bits of sponge - the sheets don't fit the bed and my partner ended up waking up most mornings sleeping directly on the mattress (there are no mattress covers) - the shower did not drain - the shower hose burst - the toilet lid and seat was broken - the curtain was falling down - the security pass was smashed in and the surround on the floor - house keeping did not attend to our room on one occassion - the floor was covered in sand and it was never cleaned properly We went down to the reception to complain, they couldn't move us to another room, but were very quick at getting all of these items fixed. However, it should never have been given to us in this state. We didn't like how our block was detached from the hotel as it felt like we weren't staying at the hotel, but rather an apartment. We were supposed to be shown to our room with a bell boy service, but for whatever reason we were never given this. Just given round about directions. The staff aren't overly friendly nor helpful, for example the bar staff ignore you or don't bother telling you what is happening with your order and just leave you standing there. My partner was furious!!!

Large hotel with everything in place to make it 5*
Bad experience at this hotel, wrong room, bad service, room And sheets did not get changed in 1 week, ran out of beach towels, not all inclusive as you had to pay for juice and some drinks, had to pay for table tennis. No entertainment in the day apart from staff dance three times a day at the pool. Very false advertising from Expedia.

disgusting hotel!!!
dont came near this hotel! terbel staf, they not answer the phone ever, cold pool, the room is not like they show in the pictue at all!! we order for a suite, and we came to a room that smell very bad, not clean, and very old. They poot us in a area out side off the lobby and far away from everything, and when we came and ask for the meneger, the treatment was terrbel!! he shout at as and say that this is what we order and there is nothing to do with that.

Nice Hotel BUT Not for The Disabled
After checking the internet AND Barcelo direct for advise on choosing a disabled room for my wife. We were given a room at the top of a block furthermost away from the main hotel facilities. The shower was not roll-in as advised and in fact had a step that my wife found difficult to attempt without assistance.

We do not understand if the disabled room was not assigned because of an assignation error or perhaps because the reservation sent from the agency did not specified for a disabled unit. Be kindly informed that the hotel counts on 2 disabled rooms on the 2nd floor of the main building, but these are hotel rooms and not self-catering ones, which maybe could have created the misunderstanding. Anyhow if we have availability and the guests request so we always reassign in these type of rooms. Not a 5 star hotel. Would give it 3 star. Room ok, but lacked any welcome from hotel staff. In a separate anex where the corridor smelt badly of waste water. The place was really scruffy. outside door failed to work on the majority of occasions for lots of guests who kept getting stuck outside. Disappointed.
