The Resort

Designed by Intrawest (of Whistler fame), Arc 1950 offers stark contrast to the other Villages comprising the Les Arcs Ski Area. Arc 1950 is a fully pedestrianised resort built in traditional alpine style. All amenities are within walking distance from the Residence which is genuinely ski-in/ski-out. Ski schools, lift pass office, supermarket (small), bakery, bars, shops and restaurants are literally on your doorstep. Covered parking is available underneath the residence (payable locally at 12€ a night). Unless you want to drive to another resort, you won’t need your car for the duration of your stay.

Arc 1950 forms part of the Paradiski region offering 420km of runs. Paradiski comprises the resorts of Arc 2000, Arc 1950, Arc 1800, Arc 1600, Peisey-Vallandry and the entire La Plagne ski region which can be reached via the “Vanoise-Express” from Peisey-Vallandry (worth visiting just for the cable car ride)

The Residence

Refuge du Montagnard is one of 8 residences in Arc 1950. Refuge du Montagnard itself offers a sauna, a steam room and an outdoor Jacuzzi as well as a heated ski locker room with direct access to the ski slopes. Guests can also make use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pool located in the neigbouring residence, Prince des Cimes. For those wishing to pamper themselves the “Deep Nature Spa” complex is minutes away.

The Apartment

The apartment is located on the 7th Floor of Refuge du Montagnard (top floor).

The refurbished apartment consists of an open plan kitchen, dining, living room with a balcony overlooking the Village and the home runs back to the resort. The kitchen area itself offers a fridge with small freezer, a dishwasher, ceramic hob, microwave oven, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine (capsules are provided) and a toaster. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you will need.

The dining area comfortably seats six people. The living room contains a double sofa bed, two armchairs and a log fire. Cable TV (with terrestrial English Channels), BlueRay DVD, IPOD/MP3 music system and free WIFI are all included.

The bedrooms are located upstairs and comprise and double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower attachment and a twin bedroom (with a third trundle bed if required). Upstairs there is also a separate shower room and WC. There is also ample cupboard space and a safe in the main bedroom.

Cleaning and Linen

The apartment will be made up for your arrival. Linen and towels are provided. The apartment will be cleaned at the end of the week (included in your rate) albeit a mid-week clean can be arranged at an additional cost.

You are asked to deposit all your refuse in the bins located in the car-park area of the Residence.

There is a laundry in the Residence (washing machines and tumble dryers).

Excellent location, great space
The apartment is exactly as described, although perhaps it's excellent location isn't highlighted enough! Large ensuite double with mountain views. The second bedroom we had the trundle and a toddler on the floor so it was a little tight but perfectly manageable. A proper 2 bed, which we have not had often in France. Seperate shower and toilet upstairs were appreciated. We could have used the large sofa bed downstairs to give us more bedroom space upstairs... Large living area was key and enjoyed during our down times. Access to the pool we did via the slope so a bit cold but it didn't put us off and was demanded daily! 1 minute to lift tickets, 2 minutes to the bakery and the supermarket. 1 minute to ski school meeting point (after day 1 when it was 4mins away) we did walk up a little slope put of the boot room so this did take a bit longer! A great apartment and we would definately look to book again if we come back to 1950.

Fantastic resort, perfect for families. Nice restaurants and very catering to children. Evening entertainment for children every night in the square. The apartment was clean and spacious, plenty of room for a family of four. The only noise was coming from piste bashers but only to be expected as we were practically on the slopes! Ski pass, ski hire, bakery, supermarket all within 200m from property. A great holiday and will return.

Great apartment with all equipment you need for a fantastic stay
Spacious apartment on two levels with 2 bedrooms. The apartment was exactly as presented, clean and is well equipped. We enjoyed the swimming pool in the other building, easily accessible through the parking. The apartment is in a quiet part of the building with easy access to stairs and elevator. The property manager was very helpful and responsive to questions. I would stay here again!

Superb apartment in true ski in ski out location
We booked last minute and communication with Jonathan the owner was fast and efficient. This is a very, very nice apartment with 3 toilets!! 2 upstairs & 1 downstairs. Unheard of in France for a 2 bedroom apartment. Useful to know if you plan to sleep 6 in this place as it’s not clear on the information. We’ve skied in this region for 35 years and can honestly say this was very good value for money and truly ski in ski out location. Bathrobes & slippers for the spa are provided (which I wasn’t expecting). Underground parking was very convenient but make sure you get a ticket for the week as it’s cheaper then the daily rate! Fabulous Apartment - Great Location!
Lovely, well equipped apartment situated in very convenient location for shops, restaurants, ski hire shops (we used Les Arcs 1950 - Precision) and the ski pass counter. We literally skied off the slopes directly to the apartment building. Communication with Jonathan (the owner) was also fabulous. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Perfect apartment in perfect ski village
I've stayed in a lot of ski resorts, but this one probably beats them all in terms of village design. Arc 1950 is really well thought out and attractive. Car free village with ample parking in the basement. All the shops, bars and restaurants you would need as a family (not the party-all-night kind of place you might be looking for in your early twenties). A free swimming pool/hot tub/sauna. A fire pit lit in the village centre each evening, and different activities for the kids. In the week before Christmas, that included various craft activities, a sleigh ride pulled by reindeer, and skiing pulled by a horse. There was floodlit evening skiing twice a week too. The apartment had plenty of space for us as a family of four, and we'd have happily fitted 6 in there. Very comfortable and clean; bang in the centre of the village yet still nice and quiet; and easy to ski into and out of. Absolutely perfect.

Great apartment in a very attractive village
The flat is great, spanning over 2 floors with a lot of storage space, well equipped kitchen and perfectly suited for our ski holiday. The maintenance guys were absent, which is a pity as otherwise the stay could be really perfect.
