Very friendly and welcoming
The receptionist, Jeanne, was outstanding: Friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was excellent. The hotel is an old building but the room was comfortable and the shower was luxurious. Parking can be a challenge but Jeanne resolved that for me. All in all I would happily stay there again.

We loved everything about the Hotel....our room was gorgeous, 10 foot ceilings and 2 big windows looking onto the Notre Dame Church. The area is lovely around the hotel with so many stores and restaurants...

Nice hotel in great position with secure parking
This hotel was in the perfect position to stop off on the way to our final destination in Italy. We stayed both on the way there and on the way back. A particular attraction for us was that it had secure parking for our car which meant that we could leave our suitcases etc.(and lots of wine on the way back!) in the car overnight without having to worry about it. The hotel is attractive and the service is friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple, modern, clean, nicely air conditioned and roomy enough. The included breakfast was nice and there was plenty of choice. The hotel is quick and easy to reach from the motorway. There are quite a few restaurants nearby. We did not try the hotel restaurant but it looked very nice, just a bit more upmarket than what we were looking for at the time. We ended up in La Comedie which is just a bit further along the square and enjoyed our meals there. A nice casual restaurant after a hard day’s drive! We will definitely use this hotel again on our next European road trip.

nice place to stay. Not aware of garahge parking which I would have used. Not overly impressed with the rerstaurant which was very expensive and food was not comparable to the cost although the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Truly excellent stay.
Truly excellent stay. The Hotel is itself a historical building and hosts one only the best restaurants in town. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet, with a nice view of the square. Location is excellent also, since the Hotel is within walking distance to historic town centre.

In France, generally, for getting a decent quality hotel like in the rest of Europe, you need to pay a lot. I knew the quality will be lower than that for this place. But I have to mention this old building has very interesting rooms. One side of the bed was WC (without a sink). The other side is a shower. The other interesting part is the building is so old, if someone walks in the corridor, the wooden floors bring the entire noise into the room. You might panic and wake up thinking someone walking in your room. Yeah, that's what happens to me :) The place has a great location and has a nice breakfast. Their restaurant was also lovely for lunch.

Good location near the cathedral. Nice to have a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Shower over the bath which was a bit difficult to get out safely.

Friendly welcome and help to store the bicycles safely. The hotel is well located near the cathedral and shopping area. Breakfast room was a bit cheerless - probably the colour of the paint.

This is a comfortable and agreeable hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Public parking was available in the square in front of the hotel. Our only minor reservation was that the creamer provided with tea and coffee in the bedroom did not work. We have found this in other Best Western hotels in France.

Fabulous room!
This was an extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean hotel, very well decorated and furnished. Our room was huge and the bathroom was amazing! The bed was very comfortable and we had a peaceful nights sleep. We only have one negative comment in that the hotel lacked a bit of atmosphere and the surrounding area was like a ghost town as everywhere closes on a Sunday. This however did not impact on our stay as it was just an overnight stop on our way to another destination.

A room for 2 adults and 1 kid appeared to be a 2-rooms flat, with a TV screen and a full-size bed in each room, a table in one room, also equipped with a cattle and some coffee-tee furniture, all clean and ready to use. Huge bathroom. Surprisingly enough lights in all the rooms (++). No delays with breakfast, everything went fast. Good choice of breakfast options.

Not what I expected from a Best Western Hotel
On the bed we found dead fleas under a throw on the bed and flies flying around. We reported it to reception and they had the room cleaned, we were offered a replacement room but had removed the fleas by then. I suspect the fact they allow pets into the rooms to be the cause of the fleas. The flies were coming in from outside. The Air conditioning made a loud buzzing noise and woke us up through the night. Again we reported.

Great for an overnight stay
We stayed here for a night while travelling by car to Italy. This is an older hotel with nice, spacious rooms in a central location. Could do with a little refurbishment but reminds you of traditional French hotels of yesteryear. Restaurant in front of hotel is not owned by hotel although they do provide room service for the hotel. Garage is to right of entrance (you have to reserve and pay a fee) - could be a bit tight for larger vehicles. Very good breakfast and pleasant staff. Would stay here again.

Very expensive room to look out onto old roofs and end of buildings plus an extra 5 euros to park a motorcycle not good and eating out very expensive makes England very competitive

Great Hotel
Situated approximately half way between the Cote D'Azur and Calais this Hotel is a great stop-over for the tired driver. The Hotel is easy to find in Bourg-en-Bresse which is a small town and the Royal Monastery of Brou is well worth a visit before check-in. Parking directly in front of Hotel although parking charges apply after 9.00am.

This was a one night stay on a journey to the Apes. The staff attention was excellent and the ambience quite luxurious. Whilst somewhat expensive the restaurant was a first class place to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable situation to enjoy our meal. A real gem

Not a bad stay. The floors are a bit creaky. Other than that my stay was good. The service was good. The aircon unit in the room was making odd noises when it was off so the receptionist helped turning on the ventilation setting (centrally controlled). Overall good for 1 or 2 nights in my opinion

The hotel is 160 years old but has been renovated recently. No elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. Food was good in the restaurant but expensive. Had to pay to park a Moto. Good location in a nice town

Hotel Retaurant
The Hotel Restaurant (under separate ownership) is the Place Bernard Restaurant which is part of the Georges Blanc Group. The food was some of the best we have had in France recently, the service was excellent and wines were good

Reasonable hotel with fantastic restaurant
The hotel looks grand from outside, but the bedrooms at the back are of lower quality than other hotels we have stayed in for the price. The front rooms, with larger windows and view of the square, would be worth asking for (not sure if they cost more). Reception service was efficient but not especially friendly. Room was comfortable but the shower room a little basic. The restaurant is amazing, if you have the whole evening to spare eating a meal. Service is very slow, but we didnt mind as we had nothing else to do. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Wine list extensive but a bit pricy. Many locals obviously use the restaurant for evenings out.
