Pocket Guide: Manchester Boundary Park Hotels

Manchester's industrial past is well known, and indeed much of it has been preserved and is on show in the city's museums, such as the impressive Museum of Science and Industry. There are also the canals, mills and converted warehouses, which are now attractive elements of the landscape rather than workhorses for the economy! The pits and mills may have closed, but Manchester is still a hive of cultural activity, with sports venues like Boundary Park attracting thousands of spectators to cheer their teams, and the spirit of this proud old city lives on. Explore its many facets for yourself when you stay at a hotel in Manchester, or indeed at one of the city's numerous excellent guesthouses or B&Bs.

Manchester Hotels for Boundary Park Stadium

Boundary Park is in Oldham, in Greater Manchester. You can easily reach the stadium from your Manchester hotel or guesthouse base in the city centre by tram or bus to enjoy a match or to visit the shop. It's home to Oldham Athletic FC, and has been transformed since the old Boundary Stand was knocked down in 2008 and work on a replacement begun in 2014. The single tier of seats here can take over 2,000 spectators and the stadium itself now looks smart and modern, and the perfect venue in which to cheer on your team. The Verlin Stand at one end commands excellent views of the pitch, with windshields and an electric scoreboard. The ZenOffice Stand at the other end, the so-called 'Chaddy End', plays host to away supporters.

A Day at Boundary Park from Manchester Hotels

Even if you're not particularly interested in football a day out at Boundary Park is a great idea, because with the game being so popular here you'll get a real sense of what the Manchester spirit is like. These are a passionate people, open and welcoming but fiercely proud of their city and heritage. When you book in to a Manchester hotel or guesthouse here, you're assured a warm welcome and plenty of home grown hospitality, and there are loads of great attractions off the pitch too.
