We were made to feel very welcome at the Hotel Tibet International and enjoyed our stay there. A peaceful and interesting environment. Breakfast was served outside with great views and upstairs there was a meditation room.
I enjoyed my stay at Alliance during the 8 days that I was in Kathmandu. The staff was friendly and helpful. They offer pick up from the airport. Food at the restaurant was quite nice (though some options on the menu were unavailable), and it's in a generally convenient location. 10 min walk to Bouddha. Hot water is hit and miss, but that's just the way it is over there. The room is simple and clean. A major plus about the hotel is its (fairly) stable electricity and also wifi!! I'd stay there again.
The hotel is quite luxurious compared to what you would expect when looking at the area surrounding the hotel. The lobby is so nice, and there is a lovely restaurant for breakfast, and quite a big garden for jogging and walking around.
The staff are nice. I had to call them twice to get a third bed sent to my room. Despite that, there is an agent that help with booking guides and trips and she's very informative and patient.
In general, I totally recommend this hotel.
Situated east of Kathmandu, Boudha (also called Bodhnath) is home to one of the holiest sites for Buddhism in Nepal, the Boudhanath Stupa. Travelers may walk clockwise around it, listen to the prayers of young and old Buddhists, or visit it from the inside. The buildings all around the Stupa are full of little Tibetan cafés and souvenir shops playing meditation music.
