Boasting brand-new renovations and pristine living quarters, this lovely apartment will truly fulfill all your needs and then some. The huge, third-level loft houses a well-equipped kitchen, a private washer/dryer, a full bathroom, and a light-filled living room with views of downtown Boston close by. The owner is amazing, we had trouble with the air conditioning and he was on top of the problem and didn't rest until it was fixed. It was nice to have 3 full baths and one is huge. Nice living space on the top floor with ample seating. One thing that needs attention are the interior doors and handles. A dishwasher would be nice if you're planning on using the kitchen much. We learned that this really old property was owned by the Irish chef of police of Boston. A lot of stairs to climb. Nice kitchen/family room. Reviewer Comments: This home is located in Dorchester, MA. 26 minutes from most major locations in and around town. The home is as advertised, decently clean and very quiet and spacious. Parking is available on the street in front of the home. The home itself is an older home, and has some character. Some of the amenities do not work — the Kuerig did not work, the TVs in the bedroom didn’t properly connect, and one of the lamps in the bedroom didn’t charge a device using a USB cord. The home is an old and interesting looking home, however it needs some work. There were very large ants throughout the home, upon arrival an old sandwich that was moldy was left in the bedroom refrigerator, there is a hole above the light fixture in a bedroom. The beds are like sleeping on a wooden platform. There were extra pillows in the closets however some had blood stains on them and we could not find any extra pillowcases. The right sink in the main bathroom would not drain, and the water temperature in the shower is never constant, would go from cold to hot constantly. The cleanliness of the home could use some work as there is cobwebs throughout, the numerous artificial plants were covered in dust, crumbs in the couch. There are a significant amount of steps in the home that should be more noted in the listing as a warning to people with knee/joint issues. The layout is not at all conducive for families. There were snacks provided in the kitchen, however they were all expired. With all that being said however, the house is in a quiet, safe neighborhood and does have plenty of room. ##### Rebekah A. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Helen W. 14 May 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Number 5 Saco Street is a great place to stay in Boston There were four of us - two single women, and the overseas parents of a young man graduating from the Berklee School of Music. We all loved our Saco Street apartment. it was very clean, tidy, and well appointed. The bedrooms are all on the second floor - three bedrooms and two full baths. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, its own mini fridge, a large screen, smart TV, and a new Mitsubishi split unit heating /cooling system. The beds were comfortable, one was especially firm. The bathrooms were interesting with painted wall/shower murals, and intricate tiling. This is an older home which has been renovated, and much of its original charm has been maintained, or perhaps improved on, in our opinion. The stairs were refinished, new windows, nicely painted, plenty of closet and storage space. The wooden floors are a bit creaky, and walking around late at night might awaken a light sleeper. The galley kitchen and large open seating area is on the third floor. it is quite comfortable with several sofas and a couple of armchairs and a a large smart TV. We didn’t cook much, eggs and toast for breakfast, coffee, and tea. But the kitchen is well equipped, and preparation of meals would not be difficult. We like the neighborhood - there are Vietnamese, Thai, in Asian fusion restaurants, nearby, as well as pizza and burger places. Grocery shopping is several blocks away and the red line metro station that connect you throughout the Boston area is about a 10 minute walk. ##### Helen W. Stayed 7 nights in May 2024
