Love the new renovations.

Rooms are small with queen bed but ask for 6106, if you go with the petite rooms.

not clean

Posted 24-Sep-2016
Pros: Convenience
Cons: Cleaner room
The bathroom had hair all over it and toothpaste stains. It looked like the hotel had cleaned the room but then someone came back to use it. The staff was quite unfriendly as well.

Great Hotel close to excellent dining.

Very nice hotel, short walk to Legal Seafood and Flemings (both excellent restaurants). Boston Common is right across the street.

Thanks for sharing this lovely review, Jayne! We're delighted to see you enjoyed your stay with us. We love our location too! There's plenty to see and do in Boston, and we're right in the heart of it. You simply cannot take in all of Boston in a single trip, though. We'd love to see you back again for an even better experience with us. We're looking forward to it! Until then, Jayne, have a beautiful day!

Next to the park

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Pros: Fitness facility and location
Cons: Bathroom sink had nowhere to put anything
Affiliation with the gym in the building provides a great fitness amenity that is much better than your standard hotel gym

Beautiful Hotel

Hotel was beautiful with a great gym. Room was tiny (even after upgrading) and restaurants/room service only serve until 11pm.

Overpriced - really so very disappointed.

Posted 20-Sep-2016
I'm really not one to complain but if you're a seasoned traveler looking for something upscale and lavish for a few nights in this magnificent city, spend half and stay at a Marriott. Pleasant staff and quick check in, but difficult to access with no clear signage for either temporary parking or a valet, and this is a very VERY busy intersection. There is no validated parking, either, and a valet runs more than $50/night with even a modest tip. Comparatively speaking, extremely overpriced for the quality &size of the room (I cringe to think what the standard queen sized room - hotel counter said it was $25 to upgrade but failed to include the facilities and extra fees that brought that up to $49 to upgrade). Bathroom was less than closet sized and black hairs in shower and on toilet plus a tissue dispenser that was squashed display a lack of attentiveness to detail. It didnt help that the shower head feature was engaged (rather than the tub) so a blast drenched me when I expected to adjust the temperature at the tub spigot. I found the decor in this once lavish and historical hotel to be clinical and stale and the hall mirrors filthy throughout. Received just one call from the front desk wondering why I'd complained on Expedia but I was showering and asked for a call later and never heard back. I'm not one to dispute a charge on my credit card so I write this in all seriousness to warn a traveler to the Boston area to expect little at the Boston Park Plaza for the $

Recently refurbished hotel close to the action

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, cleanliness, quietness on floors.
Cons: Rooms were quite small - not an issue but small for amount paid. Facilities fee (wifi) even if not using.
Location: Irish bar good alternative to hotel bar. Au pain pomme (?) next door but one good breakfast option.
The hotel had a modern, busy feel to it in the lobby, but was nice and quiet on the floors. The check in process was painless and the staff very helpful when ever questions were asked. The hotel is conveniently located for the Common / Beacon Hill / Copley but also near to the T for downtown access. The only disappointments were: - size of the rooms. For the price paid they are small and feel quite constricted - especially in the bathroom - facility fee. This may be common in the US but there was a wife usage / facility fee even if you didn't use wifi. Seemed like an extra cost just added on for no value, which with an already expensive room was frustrating

Nice location

Rooms are on the small size and the bathrooms are extremely small, didn't have room to put anything down (hairdryer, toiletries, etc).

Nice location, expensive, small rooms

Received a small room, was promised wifi which I didn't receive. Expensive hotel without free wifi or breakfast. Amazing location though.

Venerable mainstay in desperate need of updating

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: The bar in the main lobby is bustling and vibrant
Cons: Almost everything...this hotel is more like a college dormitory - with the ridiculous price tag to boot...
Location: Central to almost all things you would want to do in Boston - so if you don't give a hoot about comfort or value...this is your place.
Tiny, odd smelling, sad room, broken iron that leaked on my only shirt for my meeting, mattress that gave me a crick in my neck, bathroom so small that I had to stand to the side of the toilet wedged in by the bathtub to close the door, no counter to put shaving kit so it had to be on the toilet, view of the ally behind the hotel - all for an exasperatingly high rate that left me feeling robbed. Not a good value at all for the money.
