A Charming Riverside Country Cottage in Pretty Gardens Near Langrick, Boston

Riverside Cottage with kitchen and fireplace
Our beautiful riverside cottage is just north of the hamlet of Langrick, eight miles from the old market town of Boston. It nestles in carefully tended gardens right next to the peaceful River Witham as it takes its journey from the magnificent city of Lincoln down to Boston. Lovingly prepared for just two guests to share, Witham Cottage is the self-contained annex to a classic Georgian farmhouse occupied by the owners of the cottage.

For supplies, the nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Boston. Grocery deliveries can be arranged with ASDA, Iceland, Morrison's, Ocado, Sainsbury's, Tesco or Waitrose.

You're assured the warmest of welcomes from Kathy and Alan who are on hand to give you advice on the local area. The interior of the self-catering cottage reflects the country style of living and is beautifully equipped for your stay. Pastel décor, solid oak furniture and wooden floors immediately create a quality atmosphere. The fitted kitchen is complete with a dishwasher and all the pots and pans, cutlery and crockery needed to create anything from a quick breakfast to a delicious dinner after a day exploring our beautiful county.

The sitting room has a comfortable leather sofa and an armchair to sink into, an electric log burner for a wonderful evening glow and a large flat-screen television. Complimentary unlimited WiFi is provided.

The beautifully appointed double bedroom has dual aspect windows overlooking the gardens and is complete with solid wooden furniture, quality bedding and a chandelier. Off the bedroom is the sparkling shower room, the perfect place to start and end each day.

Surrounding Witham Cottage is two acres of gardens which guests are welcome to make their own. Enjoy a walk, explore the plant specimens and sit peacefully with a good book. Up on the riverbank it's so quiet with perhaps the occasional cabin cruiser bobbing along now and then. The riverbank is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee first thing in the morning or perhaps a glass of wine in the evening, watching the glorious sunsets turn into a fabulous display of stars in the clear night sky.

Away from Witham Cottage, there’s a wealth of things to see and do. Just eight miles away is the famous Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, at RAF Coningsby, where one of only two remaining airworthy Avro Lancaster bombers is held alongside a Supermarine Spitfire, and a Hawker Hurricane. A little further afield, explore the charming antiques shops in the quiet market town of Horncastle. Woodhall Spa is also nearby, a charming village set in woodland with delightful independent shops, walks, hotels for afternoon tea and a cinema nestled in the woods which steps back in time to the Golden Age of the silver screen. Birdwatchers are amply served by the excellent facilities at RSPB Freiston Shore and RSPB Gibraltar Point whereas National Trust members can enjoy exploring nearby Tattershall Castle, Belton House and Gunby Hall. Further afield is Sandringham, the Queen’s winter retreat which is set in thousands of acres of woodland open all year round. Access to the house is available when the family is not in residence.
Guest accommodation at this cottage offers fireplaces and DVD players. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and kitchenware and utensils.

Bathrooms include a shower and hairdryers. This Boston cottage provides complimentary wireless Internet access. Additionally, rooms include coffee/tea makers and an iron/ironing board.

5/5 Excellent

Perfect Anniversary Break
Cannot fault the property. The cottage was spotlessly clean, there is plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Hosts were very friendly. Setting was tranquil, sitting by the river (2 minutes from the door!) was so peaceful and perfect for a quiet weekend away.

5/5 Excellent

Just the most quaint cottage
We had such a lovely time at this beautiful cottage. Would definitely stay again. Everything was just perfect, couldn’t fault a thing.

5/5 Excellent

Very well appointed cottage with friendly hosts, a perfect base and very peaceful location.

5/5 Excellent

Perfect secluded spot for a peaceful getaway.
The cottage was exceptionally clean and perfectly equipped for our few days retreat. We enjoyed a few peaceful afternoons sitting by the river having a glass or 2. Whilst being remote from any built up areas the cottage is an ideal base from which to explore the Lincolnshire countryside and villages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return soon.

5/5 Excellent

A peaceful retreat in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is stunning. Lovely and clean, with everything you need at your finger tips. Ernie the dog is a great host and always pleased to see you. You will not be disappointed with your stay.
