"Excellent ammenities, guest rooms need some work."
We were there for one night, in the area for a funeral. The price was very good, and this hotel is conveniently located near major highways and decent restaurants. The breakfast buffet was very good. Two gripes about room condition, though: 1) the bathtub faucet would not completely turn off and the constant stream reeked of chlorine; 2) When we arrived the heater was running, thermostat set at 71, but it felt much warmer than that in the room, despite it being only 35 outside. We turned it down to 68. It kept running. 66, it turned off for a couple of minutes, then began running again. The room was still too warm. We turned it down to 63, then 61, same deal. Off for 2 or 3 minutes, then running again, and it was noisy, sounded like an old car starting up. Highlight of our stay was dinner at the nearby Brown Derby, which most think of as a steak house. Two of us had salmon entrees, one had shrimp, one had lemon sole. OUTSTANDING! 5 stars from all 4 of us. As for the Wyngate by Windham, the rooms do not really need updating, they just need to have some things fixed, and the place will be worth what we paid and then some.
