Love this hotel!
We've stayed twice, only for the night to see family before travelling home. But we absolutely adore it it's our favourite hotel we stay in. We love the large king bed, as after getting a super king at home a double feels too small. It's always clean and we always wake up the next day feeling fresh after a good night's sleep. This time that we stayed it was a bit chilly, even with heating. Would be nice if the AC did higher heats instead of just using the radiator which is placed by the cold window. The duvets are also more summer duvets so are on the thin side. However, we asked for a second duvet and after they looked and found one they brought it right up and we were warm the rest of the night. Also not badly priced for a Hilton. It was even £118 for the king size room Christmas day.

Christina on Recepneeds a promotion and pay rise!
Stayed here for my wife’s birthday and the lovely lady on reception Christina went above and beyond, we have never met a more friendlier person and she was so helpful , we have booked again next week for just a break from the norm over Christmas and hope Christina is working as it will be so lovely to be greeted by a lovely friendly lady with a fantastic warm smile ! The wife and I send our best to everyone there at elstree , a wonderful Happy Christmas and Holiday time ! Also as a side note , the bed was the most comfiest with pillows that I actually want to know where to buy from because they were THE most comfiest pillows we have ever slept on !! Also 10/10 for hotel cleanliness and breakfast again best I’ve ever had at a hotel , and this place caters for vegans and vegetarians as well . Thankyou again Christina ! Hope to see you next week !

Not up to the usual standard
Received a note under my door in the middle of the night telling me there was no hot water. No apologies from the staff in the morning and I didn't ask for any form of compensation...I simply couldn't be bothered! Strong smell of damp as you walk to the lift from reception. Fair to say that it wasn't the best Hilton I've ever stayed in.

The staff didn't check me in properly, didn't help arranging a taxi - phoning me at 23:30 that night to say it had been cancelled; the reception staff member was unable to understand basic English and shrugged her shoulders at me. The meal in the restaurant was a nightmare - the 2nd steak I had served to me was raw and cold in the middle. By the time they got me a pork chop to eat, my guests had finished their meal. When checking out, they tried to charge me for the 2nd room and extended check out for it, even though I had paid this when I checked in. They didn't seem able to give me an itemised bill at first and I explained there was no charge for the meal, which I was expecting to pay for my guests dinner, but not mine. This was supposed to be a celebratory event, with my partner graduating at `middlesex Uni, which, although 15 minutes away by car, was looked at as though it was in Scotland or something! I will never stay at this hotel again.

The room was nice, and the breakfast was good. HOWEVER. The room was 27 degrees when we arrived. The rooms have "fan cooling" (or something similar - the staff were very keen to state that it was NOT air conditioning. Despite the "cooling system" being set to -3 all night, the room was still 26 degrees in the morning. We barely slept due to the temperature of the room. I spoke to a member of staff on reception about this in the morning, and she said she would get maintenance to take a look. When we arrived back to the hotel in the evening I asked the staff on reception then if anything had been done. This member of staff was particularly unhelpful, and said maintenance wouldn't have looked at it, as "that's not something they can fix that quickly". I said we needed to be moved rooms as we did not want another night of no sleep, to which she stated there were no other rooms available. I said I wanted a refund then as I wasn't happy spending £200 per night to get no sleep, and she said she couldn't do that either. In the end, all she offered was a fan for that evening. We accepted the offer. Guess what, they couldn't even bring the fan to us. Absolutely terrible service.
