Front Desk was very Friendly and Helpful. Rooms were clean and in good condition. Location is conviently located close to tram line and within walking distances to stores and restaurants.

I chose this hotel based on it having air conditioning. Got to the room and the ac was not working. I went to reception to ask if they could fix it or change rooms and was told that it was turned off through all their hotels to save energy. It had been a hot day and the hotel building retains a lot of heat, so it was impossible to sleep - one of the worst hotel stays ever. Basic mis-selling if they already know the air conditioning is off but still sell the room based on it having ac.

Great stay, really quiet at night but air con wasn’t the best and we were bitten by mosquito multiple times during the night. We had to kill three during our stay and could find other remnants of dead mosquitos on the walls and ceiling

While the room was clean it is also a bit smaller than other Ibis or comparable hotel rooms in this class. It is fine for a day or two, it will feel cramped after that. Be aware that there are 4 Ibis hotels in the immediate area, so don’t just walk to the first one you see.

Weekend way for Easter.
Needed to get away for a weekend which happened to be Easter. I loved Bordeaux and wanted to be there after three years of no travel. I came on the train from England and it was very convenient for St Jean station. The area around the station is OK.

Nice hotel by the river and station.
Typical Ibis hotel, a short walk from the railway station and next to the river. Easy to get a tram to get about. There are several other Ibis hotels in the area, so be sure to go to the right one. Check-in and out staff excellent, both friendly and efficient. Breakfast a bit limited by Covid-19 restrictions. I was given a room which I think is aimed for people in wheelchairs, so both the bedroom and the bathroom were bigger then normal for an Ibis hotel. The hotel was as expected and I would certainly use in again.

It wasn´t good at all. I made the reservation online and the hotel confirmed it and deducted the money from credit card. When my mother arrived at the hotel they said that they did not have any booking. She showed the confirmation number as well as the payment done in my card and they said no. This was 9pm so she paid on spot for her room. What basically happened is that the hotel has charged the room fee twice....still no money refund in my card....

The location for our purposes (travelling further afield) was great as very close to the rail station, it was also easy access to the town centre, The only slight complaint is the room was quite small and would benefit from having tea and coffee making facilities in the room, otherwise 😁👍

This was the smallest room we had in two weeks of travel. If you have lots of luggage it can pose some issues. The beds are small and tight. The bathroom door doubles as an extra door to the hallway. This is great to cut down noise; kind of awkward when using the bathroom. The bathroom is also very small. So with two people it’s rather tight. But they try hard. The staff is awesome. The breakfast was fantastic and the decor is very calming. The elevators work well as does the wifi. So despite its size, I found it a good overnight stay. Now we did stay here two nights and perhaps that was a bit much. The location to the main train station was the big draw for us. A word of caution: there are four Ibis hotels in this location and ours faced the Main Street overlooking the river. This was good but the area is rather sketchy at night.

There are five Ibis hotels around the Gare St. Jean, and three within one block. Pay attention to which one you're staying at if you head out of the area and then return. Desk staff at the wrong Ibis hotel may not be less than helpful getting you directed to the one in which you're registered.

Convenient location near station. Room fine for one person, with ample space and desk. Double glazing good against outside noise: could hear trains but not loud. Helpful staff, small restaurant a welcome feature. Room staff neglected to make up room one day — obviously a mistake. Could not open window, and with heat off for the season there was no ventilation.
