Communication with the host was very accommodating. It was a bit of a drive each day to and from my hiking destinations but i would not necessarily allow that to hinder my decision to return to this cabin in the future."

"Place was nice and quiet. The view of the lake was blocked partially by trees, but you could still get good views if you walked down to the lake or were at the restaurant. The internet was good. Had no cell phone reception. Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms were clean. My only complaint beside cell phone reception is the "continental breakfast". The breakfast was literally only, coffee, juice, cereal, toast, packaged muffins, packaged waffles, packaged sausage biscuits. I was expecting a buffet. I'm guessing there was no buffet because it was after labor day, but it was disappointing because the restaurant wasn't even open for breakfast either and you are not close to any other food places."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Crooked Cabin! If you're looking to truly disconnect, this is the ultimate romantic woodland escape. The cabin itself feels straight out of a fairytale, with its unique crooked windows, handmade details, and secluded 25 private wooded acres.Spending our evenings soaking under the stars in the private wood-fired hot tub and relaxing by the fire was exactly the recharge we needed before heading back to reality. It's close enough to enjoy everything the Red River Gorge area has to offer, yet secluded enough that you feel completely tucked away in your own private world.Dennis was a fantastic host — hospitable, attentive, and clearly thought of everything. We loved the charming storybook details woven throughout the property. Highly recommend to anyone needing a peaceful, unique getaway!"

"We loved our relaxing weekend at this very peaceful cabin! It was everything we wanted - secluded, cozy, close to great hiking. We brought food to cook, but ended up at Red Point BBQ and Miguel’s for our dinners … and we were not mad! Both were delicious!My favorite part of the cabin was the screened in back porch. Perfect for drinking coffee, reading, bird watching or all the above!"

"Amazing cabin in a beautiful serene setting. Cabin is custom built with unique detail. We were disappointed with the grill situation - we were not able to use it, as it was filthy inside and falling apart. We had purchased nice steaks and chicken to grill and had to change plans. Hot tub was very nice, cabin was very clean. I would recommend the owners provide more cookware, spray cleaner for kitchen cleanup, and also maybe stock cards and games for rainy days or families. The fire pit and chairs are great, but would recommend stocking a bit of covered firewood, lighters, a flash light, and bug spray. Overall I would recommend the cabin - it is beautiful!"

They’ve done a FANTASTIC job.Well water is clean and potable. Great water pressure. No musty odor. Better yet, no perfumed cover ups.Comfortable bed and well prepared kitchen. Plenty of towels. Fantastic internet. I was able to sign in AB’s work remotely. Streaming works great.Didn’t want to leave. Will come back.Make sure you find the light switch that that turns on the spotlight under the waterfall…"
