Surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, you'll be just a short 10-minute drive from the slopes of Sugar Mountain Resort and a 12-minute drive from the thrilling runs of Beech Mountain Resort. For a day of adventure, Grandfather Mountain is just a 24-minute drive away, where you can explore the iconic Mile High Swinging Bridge and encounter native wildlife. Back at the cabin, you'll find all the comforts of home, including free WiFi, a washing machine and dryer, a cozy fireplace, and a smart TV with cable channels and streaming. The fully stocked kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, outside deck grill, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, blender, and toaster, allowing you to easily prepare delicious meals. We ask our guests to make sure this is something they are comfortable with prior to booking. \~The drive does have a slight incline as so many mountain properties do! It is what make us the mountains. It is paved, however, manageable by 99% of our guests regardless of the type of car they may drive. And... it is maintained in the winter by a wonderful local gentleman on call for us with his snow plow! He never lets us down and we feel super fortunate to have him look after our driveway on the many wintry days the high country produces! \~The property does have 1 security camera facing the driveway and mounted above the garage. This is for monitoring the property when it is unoccupied and for monitoring winter conditions of the drive. We turn it off when our guests arrive except to periodically check conditions of snow accumulation. Clean and was already stocked with firewood and all the other supplies we needed for our stay. Lisa was very helpful during the process and answered any questions we had along the way. We’ve stayed at many different cabins in the Blue Ridge area for years, and A Frame of Mind was among the best! Incredibly clean and comfortable. So close to area points of interest. This was our second stay here. Each time the owner has always made the check-in and check-out process seamless. She always communicates in a timely manner to make sure you have all you need for your stay in the Banner Elk area. This cabin is conveniently located less than a mile from the Banner Elk town center making it easy drive to our favorite breakfast spot the Banner Elk Cafe. Our favorite feature of the cabin is the fireplace. We sat in front of it for hours just chatting. The owners also make sure you have plenty of wood to burn. We will definitely be heading back to this cabin in the near future! ##### Kaylyn M. The location is perfect! Very private, yet minutes to downtown. The owners were very courteous, and left treats for us and our dog. The fireplace was absolutely amazing! There is plenty to do nearby, but we really just enjoyed relaxing at the cabin! We definitely hope to come back next year. Thanks again! ##### Michelle J. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed for relaxing by the fire, preparing meals, and even playing games. We loved being 3 minutes from Banner Elk and 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Lisa was a breeze to communicate with, check-in was easy, and having a garage to use was so awesome. It felt more like borrowing a good friend’s home than staying at a rental. ##### Stacy J. Such a beautiful, clean house and a great stay! We went in January with our little dog and enjoyed the (real) fireplace and the comfy sitting areas. Beds were all comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. The garage was a super perk. Very quiet and private. Plan to revisit in the spring/summer to enjoy the expansive decks. Peaceful and quiet. Minutes from town. Cabin itself is wonderful. The owner has thought of everything. We personally have never stayed at VRBO so well equipped. The cabin was all we could have hoped for, and more. A very comfortable and cozy get away, tucked nicely in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed the convenience of being just a short drive from town, and the walk on the nearby Greenway was great. Lisa (the owner) was extremely friendly and accommodating... the personalized welcome to our family left for us on the kitchen table was an especially thoughtful touch.
