Larger than average room, bring you own coffee mug

Posted 14-Apr-2016
Location: We drove to Elk Knob State Park to hike to the streams that are the headwaters to the New River.
This hotel offers rooms with 2 queen beds and an extra nook with 2 chairs, a desk and a sofa bed at a very reasonable price. However, at breakfast, the coffee cups and cereal bowls offered are styrofoam, and the utensils are plastic. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Hotel in the heart of Boon

Posted 04-Apr-2016
This is a very nice hotel in the heart of Boone and close to pretty much all the attractions we were looking for. Sugar Mountain Ski resort. Beech Mountain ski center. And Appalachian Ski Mtn. Grandfather Mtn, Blowing Rock. Many hiking trails from easy to difficult. The rooms are very comfortable for a family of 5 like us. The hotel have a great breakfast variety, with many options. Pool and shared bathroom were clean and wel maintained. The front desk employee is not good resource for information. Basically he's standing there to complete the check in and that is all. I, as most people, have an smart phone and I can look for info online. But after I checked I asked this employee for distance information and recommendations and he's answer was like to try get rid of me. After that tried. I never asked him anything else again. Bottom line is a nice place with a very convenient price. I recommend this place.

Do not go if you want to sleep

Posted 02-Apr-2016
Pros: Breakfast was pretty good and pool was ok.
Cons: Front desk personnel could be a little less snotty.
Location: Boone was awesome!
Every single sound is heard through the walls and ceiling! It was a comfortable room, but if you want to go to the bathroom, you have to tip toe! Ridiculous!

Very convenient and close to shopping and skiing.

Posted 24-Feb-2016
Pros: The convenience to shopping, restaurants, and skiing.
We have a family of 6 so many times it's hard to find a hotel that will sleep all of us comfortably. The room was large and comfortable. The boys loved the pool and we all enjoyed the hearty breakfast each morning. The purpose of our trip was to ski at two different ski locations, and this hotel was very convenient with just a short drive to each. We ate at Bella's Italian restaurant for one supper and it's highly recommended. The pizza is absolutely amazing! Walmart is just a quick drive if you need anything. The room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea maker. The beds were comfortable, and we never heard our neighbors. We actually overslept one morning! We did make it breakfast which included scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon or sausage, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc... Our family enjoyed making the fruit flavored waffles with the waffle-maker. Becca did a great job cleaning our room and providing towels and toiletries. I would recommend this hotel to families with children on a tight budget. It made our trip much more affordable.
