Good condition
The condition of the hotel was really good, however the aircon didn't go down far, but that might be due to the energy cut backs. The breakfast was pretty good.

Too noisy
Very noisy. The room was too close to a road with much traffic. At 5.30 in the morning two workers were talking load in the corridor. The entrance to the outdoor pool was just under our window. People met and waited for each other very early (around 6.30 in the morning. But the worst was the traffic, also at night.

Not very welcoming staff. Poor food/ snack option after service time. Didn't use wellness, can't judge that. Breakfast was ok though

Public swimming pool next hotel was good for kids. My 10 year old son said this swimming pool was cool. Hotel room was spacious and very clean.

Great for the price, bathroom smelled
Super convinient when coming to dive, also fun to have sauna and fitness around the corner, but the toilet smeeled so badly upon arrival, had to leave the fan on for hours, didnt help much

Basic Business Hotel
Just stopped for a night to break up my drive. Rooms are very basic but fine. There is ample parking, Just get a pass for the public lot from the front desk

Nice hotel. Would stay again pending open pool.
Nice hotel, next to a small water park. Good reception on arrival, and the room was nice. However we were under the impression the hotel had indoor swimming pools from the description. This was not the case. The only option was the outdoor pools within the water park. No good for us. The breakfast selection was good and fortunately there was a nice restaurant/pub/club 100 meters away along with a small supermarket across the road.

OK...but noisy
Generally a nice hotel. However the rooms have no air conditioning which, given the recent warm weather, resulted in the need to leave the windows open. Having a room at the front of the hotel and above the hotel entrance, with people coming and going in to the early hours, resulted in an interrupted nights sleep.

Great choice!
Gladly found this hotel on our way to Cologne, and it was the best hotel of our 2-week trip. It's one of those hotels where every detail is though-through. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast delicious, the staff is courteous, and place is beautiful and you can even use a huge swimming pool if you wanted to. Besides this, the small town of Siegburg is beautiful as well. Away from tourists and filled with live. It might be a bit far if you are going to Cologne or Bonn, but not a problem if you have a car. (the have parking lot, by the way).

Have stayed here before, but an update to previous reviews. I was upgraded to a more spacious room at the end of the corridor on the top floor. However this had the downside of very patchy wi-fi. The bathroom was a bit odd also given that it is open plan to the main room - the shower faces the bed through a glass window. Also, the shower is not a contained room which ultimately leads to a lot of water encroaching into the bathroom. Breakfast is good quality, the rooms are smart and the staff are pleasant.

The oktopus is in a low key location - there are a few bars and restaurants within a five minute walk but the town centre is a fifteen minute or so walk away. It is a 10EUR taxi ride from the Siegburg/Bonn railway station. The hotel is adjacent to a swimming and scuba diving pool, which is great if you like that sort of thing! The breakfast buffet is a fairly standard German affair. The hotel itself is fairly modern, the rooms are smart if a little spartan. Tiled floors can lead to some noise. During my visit the daytime temperature was over 30C/85F and around 20C/70F at night. Admittedly this is unusual for Germany but without air conditioning, the rooms were for sure a little warm. Having the windows open helped but being adjacent to the road and under the flight path to Cologne/Bonn airport made the nights a little noisy and sticky. Probably for over 330 nights a year this isn't a problem as it was quiet enough with the windows closed!

Dive Anyone?
Hotel is at a scuba diving centre, so primarily not in a tourist destination. However, only a 15min walk into town with restaurants etc. However a truely excellent Vietnamese restaurant is only 5mins walk down the road. Room was certainly larger then anticipated, and lovely. The Sky Cinema HD channel in English was very welcome when you have the flu! A very pleasant stay.
