Tredethy is a great family run guest house in a large stone house set in beautiful wooded grounds, with a marvellous view across to adjoining hills. The food was superb, with home-made bread at breakfast and excellent traditional home-cooked Italian food when the restaurant was open at weekends. I would certainly return if I am in the area again.

Very warm welcome on arrival, all staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent and very plentiful, good appetites need not worry, portion sizes are large. The hotel can be a little noisy at times as the rooms are over the public bar but as this closed at 11pm at the latest this was not a problem at all. The hotel is very clean with maid service and clean towels daily. The area is quiet, ideal for walkers or anyone who likes a rural holiday. Don't expect night clubs on the doorstep as there aren't any. This is a rural area with sheep wandering into the car park and taking up residence. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet holiday with an excellent base for touring the area. This was my second stay and I would happily return again.
"Lovely place quiet and comfortable would recommend"
Spent my birthday with my wife at the Nebula easy to park loads of room ,great hosts Barry and Martine ,lovely coffee and biscuits on arrival ,room was clean and warm on entry ,had a lovely Himalayan meal at a local restaurant and then went to Carnglaze caverns to watch a concert ,it's 12mins by car and the cavern was spectacular the group performed in .
Had a comfortable nights sleep and a tasty breakfast .
Would highly recommend the stay to anyone looking in the area.

This is a pub which serves really good food with first class breakfasts. The staff try really hard to make your stay as comfortable as they can. This is not 4* accommodation however, but I will stay here again. Access to the room was tricky. Narrow, steep and winding stairway, room bright. Host and hostess were truly excellent.
We stayed here on the way back from a week in Cornwall to break the journey up. We would have loved to stay longer - the venue is so relaxing with beautiful grounds to explore.
The hosts couldn't do enough, and we had tea on the river veranda on arrival with amazing biscuits, then fudge in the room. Room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. They also helped us to find somewhere to eat and a local taxi, and we had a lovely meal out.
Minor point was that we booked a balcony room and it wasn't clear from the pictures or description that it would only be a Juliet balcony. It seems the real balcony that is available is shared with other rooms and not private.
Would definitely stay again.
Stayed 2 nights. The most friendly stay we have ever had. Kim couldn't be more warm, friendly and helpful. Room beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast made to order at a time which suited us. Wish we could have taken Kim and all with us for the rest of our month long holiday around the UK. I hope she will come over and visit us in NZ.
This relatively remote, wild upland area attracts walkers searching the highest points of Cornwall, namely the tors (rock outcrops) of Rough Tor and Brown Willy. The main settlements, Camelford and Liskeard ('lis-kard') are pleasant, sleepy towns. Visitor attractions include Bodmin Jail, Jamaica Inn (immortalised by Daphne du Maurier) and Lanhydrock House and gardens, one of the finest late 19th-century houses in England.
