"Lovely rural authentic hotel in Alpujarra. Good base for exploring. Excellent service - thank you Victor. Nice breakfast to start your day. Coffee, tea, bar and snacks available. No dinner available but bar/restaurant across the street and two small restaurants a short walk away. Quiet and peaceful location. Parking just outside hotel. "

"The Meliá Granada has an excellent location, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were generally friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, our stay was affected by a significant issue with the air conditioning. During an extreme heat wave, the AC in our room simply was not working. A maintenance technician came to inspect it, but instead of fixing the problem, he only changed the thermostat from 18°C to 17°C and repeatedly tried to convince us that this would solve the issue, even though the room remained very hot. It was frustrating to have our concerns dismissed rather than properly addressed.
At around 1:00 a.m., after another uncomfortable attempt to sleep, we contacted the front desk again. The night receptionist came to our room, immediately confirmed that the air conditioning was indeed not working, and promptly moved us to another room where we were finally able to sleep. We really appreciated how professionally and efficiently the receptionist handled the situation.
Overall, the hotel has many positives—excellent location, comfortable rooms, and good staff—but the handling of the maintenance issue fell well below expectations, especially during a heat wave. Had the problem been taken seriously from the beginning, the inconvenience and disruption to our night could have been avoided."
"Beautiful place but need to go into it thinking it’s more like an Airbnb. Do
Your shopping before you arrive as there is nothing there. The onsite restaurant is amazing but not open often. No breakfast included even though on booking it says it is. You’ll need to buy essentials like milk, coffee, tea, basically everything food wise but it has its own kitchen and fridge freezer and cutlery etc.
Amazing views
Pool great
Waterfall appreciated !
We booked the jacuzzi room and it was lovely.
Sleep With shutters closed as you’ll hear every dog and cockerel within miles in the valley. It can be peaceful but not from 04:30!!
The air conditioning was welcoming and worked well and was quiet.
There’s alot of flies but we bought a huge can of spray to keep them at bay in the apartment.
The room doesn’t get cleaned daily but that was fine with us as it didn’t need doing.
There is one guy (Jose) who looks after the whole area who speaks no English but very friendly and as helpful as he can be. But I was on WhatsApp with the owner who would relay messages to Jose.
If you walk down into the village square (5mins) there is a wonderful kiosk that does great Tapas etc and the locals frequent it nightly which shows how good it is. You’ll need google translate and it is perfectly Spanish speaking only. We went often as the food was wonderful. The prices were extremely low. All in all, we would definitely go back."
The Ultimate Villa Rental! Silverfield Villa AKA 'Tony Starks House'
10/10 Excellent
"We spent 4 days, 3 nights here with a group of 12. We had an absolute blast, the villa had everything you could need and looked exactly like the pictures and description.Location is great, 10 mins from the supermarket and the little town down the road has everything you need. Granada is only 30 mins away and you can even catch an Uber there and back directly from the villa. Plenty of space for parking too, we had 3 cars and had no problems at all.Our host Sue was wonderful, we had breakfast for 2 mornings and she made sure that there was more than enough food for 12 people! She also went out of her way to ensure everything in the villa was as expected and was always quick to answer any queries we may have had.Overall can't recommend this place enough, we all agreed it was worth every penny 10/10."
"I stayed at Hotel Elba in Motril for a weekend and had a very pleasant experience. The room was spotless and had a lovely balcony with views of the beach. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and well equipped.
Breakfast was included in the price and offered a good variety of foods and drinks, with plenty of options to suit different tastes. The hotel also has both indoor and outdoor pools, though I didn’t get the chance to use them, so I can’t comment on those facilities.
Parking cost €7 per day, which I found reasonable for the area.
Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. However, the sound insulation is a bit of an issue as you can hear people speaking in the next room but I would definitely choose Hotel Elba again for a future visit to Motril."
"This was a fantastic place to stay all around. First of all, it's only a five-minute walk to town, if that. La Zubia has several little markets right near by and lots of cafes and bakeries. Easy access to Granada. The house is spacious, beautiful, and authentic, with little touches that the photographs don't capture--like etched glass panes in the dining room entry, a lovely tea set in the pantry, interesting sculptures in the living room. Every room had a lovely chandelier, and the tile floor in the main bedroom is stunning. There's also a rooftop patio with stunning views of the snow-capped mountains in the distance The home was spotless on arrival, and our dog was welcomed. Rodrigo and Manuela were lovely and helpful, The only downside was the tight parking and the nasty neighbor who got upset when the wheels of our car touched the line separating our car from his. Other than that, a beautiful stay, highly recommended."
