"What a gem right by Soho"
We loved this hotel from the moment we checked in. It's akin to staying in a B&B but with the privacy and amenities of a 4 star hotel. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is hearty. Our room was a spacious suite with comfortable beds, a large bathroom, bathrobes, in room hot pot for coffee and tea and great water pressure - a welcome change from the cramped quarters of our Paris hotel room. The area around the hotel is fantastic for exploring, especially Soho, with great restaurants. Also walking distance to the theaters. Very lively and fun. One side note, we asked the concierge on duty for a recommendation for dinner in the area, seeking out one of the local pubs with good food. My 17 year old daughter and I were seeking a gastro pub. He said he couldn't make a recommendation because he doesn't drink. We were not looking to drink either, and found it laughable that he didn't have a list of local options to recommend. Not a big deal as we found recommendations online, but also silly not to have a list of a few local reliable places.

Pocket Guide: London Bloomsbury Independent Boutique Hotels

The fashionable residential district of Bloomsbury in central London, dotted with hushed Georgian garden squares, has drawn famous writers and philosophers through the centuries. Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury Set redefined the 20th-century novel here, and being the seat of the British Library and the British Museum, it was also where Charles Darwin formulated his historic theory of evolution.
