Bed and bathroom in one cramped room with insufficient hot water cannot be regarded as luxury accommodation.

Great stay. Friendly service. Nice room. No door to the bathroom - just a curtain, which took some getting used to.

Dusty, Noisy and definitely not 5 star

Bed & Linen were good and clean and crisp, however Pillows inner & Duvet Inner, you could smell had not been cleaned in a while. They had a very musty smell and the room gave my wife and I extreme sinus. The Aircon was not working properly and undersized for the room as we were told not to put it below 20. Room has no windows, other than in the bathoom. The A/C has a bright blue light that lights up your room at night so bright that you can't sleep. No water available in the room at night, so we had to walk to their water cooler down the passage. (The water tasted terrible, and was definitely not filtered or mineral) There is no bathroom door, but a curtain that doesn't close properly between the bedroom and bathroom. The towels and shower and bath are all good, however the cheap soaps that they supply smells terrible and chemical. (Why not use Charlotte Rhys or something similar if your a 5star hotel) Doors/ windows are not soundproof & when other guests came in late at night we were woken up. We had a sleepless night, sneezing and runny noses from the dust. The light that the cheap Aircon gave off was unacceptable, no mineral water available in the rooms. No phone in room, no one at reception to help late at night! The paper thin doors & windows doesn't help at all either and just made our stay even worse. The outside parking and entrance areas are absolutely terrible, I would not rate this part even 1star. The lounge area is also shocking. However the dining area is ok.

A friendly talkative young man welcomed us and showed us to our room. We stayed in Zhivago. The amenities were all up to scratch, room and bathroom clean. Lovely mattress, soft sheets and thick towels. Great breakfast.

The Guest house was a surprise, as I was expecting to see a hotel. I was unaware of the whereabouts in Bloemfontein and my GPS took me to an unfamiliar place about 4 km out of my usual destination. But at my arrival I was welcomed by a very pleasant receptionist who opened the gate for me to reveal the main building paced within a manicured and tranquil garden. The Manor has an aristocratic feel of a bygone era exhibiting details of nostalgia and culture. The photos displayed in the Internet give the impression of luxury, and this is what it is. Whatever the purpose of visiting Bloemfontein is, let yourselves be spoiled by the friendly personnel and the delightful ambiance of the Manor.

The Dersley was a fabulous experience. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, the facilities were excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel theme. 5 stars all the way.
