The surrounding is suited for some shorter day trips and for walking. For cooling down on hot days there is a small lake at a 15 minutes walk from the house"

"Maison confortable avec une belle vue, un joli jardin avec son propre étang (que notre chien a utilisé avec gratitude) et un air merveilleusement pur. Depuis le jardin, nous voyions chaque jour des oiseaux de proie voler de l’autre côté de la vallée. La maison est située le long d'une route très calme. "We booked this hotel last minute and arrived around 10 PM. The owner and his family were very friendly. The hotel is close to A6 Highway, which was convenient. Although the hotel isn't large, we noticed the restaurant was bustling with guests enjoying their meals when we arrived. Unfortunately, we had already eaten, but we definitely wish we could have tried their Indian cuisine! The room was simple yet elegant. While there was no air conditioning, the room was pleasantly cool, and we didn't even need to use the fan provided. Considering the price, this hotel offers exceptional value for money. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable stay!"

"This hotel worked for us in that it was roughly halfway on our journey to the south of France. The staff were very friendly and helpful on check-in. The hotel itself is quite tired and needs some modernisation. Restaurant was not open the evening we were there but the Local town of Avallon had plenty of pleasant restaurants available. "
