Great communication with directions and an unexpected welcome basket made arrival quick and simple so we were able to complete a 5 mile walk starting outside the property, down to the lake and looping back via the local pub (Bryn Arms) in time for an evening meal - a perfect start to our break. A morning visit to Portmeirion followed by a loop south taking in Harlech and Barmouth amongst others got us another 9 miles, ending the day with the best pub meal we've had in years at The Grapes Hotel in nearby Maentwrog. Sunday we walked several sections of the Lynn Coastal path finishing with the recommended fish and chips at Aberdaron, the lobster tails were an unexpected treat!We returned to York via Beddgelert where we extended the Grave walk to include a lovely stretch of the Snowdonia Slate Trail and enjoyed the drive back via Betws-Y-Coed.A great location to access the whole area and if you come without any plans, Debbie's recommendations will give you a varied selection to choose from.Parking was novel and I found it easier to drive in and reverse back down the lane on leaving. ##### Andy W.
