I last stayed at this property 3 years ago when it was owned by a lovely couple. Therefore booked knowing how lovely it was the last time I stayed. Huge mistake!
The property is now owned by others. The room had not been cleaned properly, there was a small narrow shelf on what was placed the kettle, mugs, tea/coffee/sugar. There was spilt sugar on the shelf, also, imagine a child knocking the boiling kettle off the shelf...dangerous to say the least.
The towels when held up to the light were dirty. The windows in our room were broken so we could not open them. I notice on the floor below there is a window that has been boarded up, therefore curb appeal is none.
We came back late & couldn’t get into the hotel, we had to wait until others returned (who had been given an external key) to gain access. There was a keypad but we had not been given the code!
Breakfast: The cups were dirty, the tea tasted as if the hot water had come straight out of the tap. Whilst still eating our cereal our cooked breakfasts were brought out. We were expected to hold our cereal bowls to continue eating so they could place plates in front of us. My bacon was swimming in oil & the breakfast at best can be described as luke warm only.
When we were checking in a lad came in & I swear paid only £20 for his room for the night, wouldn’t surprise me if it was a cash in hand payment.
Would I stay here again...never, not even if you paid me too!
