Arden hotel close to Birmingham airport

Posted 20-Oct-2016
Pros: Location close to Airport and NEC. Bar and facilities overall. Busy but very well staffed who were all pleasant.
Cons: nothing springs to mind
Location: NEC and airport.
Pleasant corporate hotel with excellent reception staff. Welcoming bar facilities and quality restaurant with reasonably priced set menu.

Excellent place to stay if you are travelling

Posted 07-Oct-2016
Pros: Everything but the staff
Cons: customer service
Location: difficult to locate as noted above
Excellent place to stay for a quite holiday or if you are travelling out of BHX airport. Overall its amazing except for the following. 1. The location- on the address is very confusing and the staff on the phone could not provide an accurate post code. It took me 2 hrs finding the place. 2. The front dest and room service staff are very superficial and are sometimes very rude in their behaviour. The food quality and quantity is excellent for the price. No Qualms. Highly recommended

Fantastic hotel, shame about the room.

Posted 05-Oct-2016
Pros: Evening meal in the restaurant.
Cons: Room In need of updating.
Location: Handy for the airport, that was the purpose of our stay.
First impressions were good. Clean, modern reception, our room was up the stairs, then along a warren of corridors, which seemed never ending. Then the room, first impressions - very dated, in need of a revamp. The bathroom was clean, but bits of the floor were missing, the whole bathroom was in need of replacing. The bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant, the £20 three course meal was good value and very well presented. We didn't have breakfast as we had an early flight, but the reception staff arranged a taxi. We found it an expensive airport stopover.

My room which I paid for in advance was given away

Posted 29-Sep-2016
Expedia.com receipt said that I can check in by 4am. Upon arriving at 0.10am I was told that "computers reset at 12" and my room was given away to someone else. As it was 12am I had nowhere to stay but hotel staff was not interested. They had "Not my problem" attitude so I had to sleep in my car. After much arguing I was given another room next morning which had musty smell but better that than sleeping in my car again. I cannot recommend this hotel. If you must stay here be sure to arrive as early as you can in case "computers reset" or you may loose your room like we did.

Hot and uncomfortable

Posted 25-Sep-2016
Although the staff were polite, the hotel was clean (a little dated) and the leisure facilities were lovely. It was all let down by a room which was tropical in temperature and a poor mattress in which the springs could be felt. And after two nights trying to sleep on the mattress I was left tired and had a bad back.

Tired hotel but close to Nec

Posted 23-Sep-2016
It look me 45mins to get to the hotel because the road was closed with poor signing. It's obviously not the hotels fault but some notification with the booking or the staff answering the phone would have helped. This hotel is in a great location but it's very tired and stuck in the 80's.

Comfirtable hotel with easy access to Genting Aren

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: Within easy easy access to Genting arena if you are attending a concert. Has plenty of parking spaces. Has on site bar and restaurant.
Cons: Decor is a bit dated. Bathroom could be do with a stronger shower. Postcode needs to be updated as sat nav seems to take you to a different location.
Location: Location is quite remote. The only things nearby are the NEC, and it's facilities.
Stayed here for one night to attend concert at the Genting Arena. Check in was smooth and quick. Having read other reviews I was concerned that the hotel would not meet my expectations. But there is nothing to com plain about if you need it for a short stay. Staff were helpful. They ordered a taxi for us to go to the concert and it arrived promptly. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Rooms were clean and we had a good night's sleep.

A bed to sleep in?

Posted 17-Sep-2016
Pros: The Leisure Club was great and the staff in the hotel are friendly.
Cons: Mattresses.
Location: The hotel is in walking distance to Birmingham International airport and train station.
The hotel and staff were delightful and very accomidating. The rooms need to be updated but aren't the worst. The mattresses in the room I had was terrible and caused me to lose my needed sleep for 6 nights. I was given another room by the third night because I threatened to leave for another hotel. They upgraded me to a suite however, mattress again was totally shot. I will not be staying here again unless they change out all their beds. Time to go and get the knots massaged out of my back.
