Lage zum Flughafen und N.E.C in Birmingahm optimal

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Pros: Lage
Cons: passt

very good

Restaurant dinner was excellent at reasonable price. Dining room very pleasant, service very good. Room quiet, clean, and functional. Hotel staff in general very accommodating, all at a reasonable price. Would definitely go back if travelling from Birmingham airport or visiting NEC

Nice hotel close to NEC

Posted 26-Nov-2016
Pros: closeness to NEC
Cons: Manner of bar staff and delivering food ordered
Booked 3 rooms one of which had broken mirror and tv control - unfortunate that my daughters were in that one!. Visited the bar for an evening bar snack - had to clear a table ourselves as were other guests clearing theirs. Ordered food at bar and waited a while for it to appear. First of all brought us someone else's food then when ours did arrive it was the wrong food - they claimed it what was as ordered but as 2 went to order we were both adamant on this. They begrudgingly brought the correct food although we did have quite a wait. The other 2 meals were adequate but my family are not fans of lukewarm food :( Breakfast was adequate but filled us up for the day ahead. We will return in the hope the food issues were a one-off and the bar staff have improved their manners and clearing tables tecnique

Good choice for visiting the NEC

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Pros: Easy to find, good location for the NEC, decent quality restaurant and overall value is fair.
Cons: Overly soft bed, tired decor in the bathroom and mouldy cubicle.
Location: Its next to the NEC and is within a 15 minute walk to the exhibition centre, train station and airport access.
The location of the hotel meant it was easy to find and a sizeable car park ensured we found a space despite it looking full. Check-in was efficient and we got our room keys quickly. It is a modern building and so has absolutely no character but it is at least spacious with a large restaurant and bar area. We were there for a show at the exhibition over three days and it is a great choice for that. A fifteen minute walk to the train station entrance to the halls enabled us to leave the car parked at the hotel and avoid queueing for car parks at the start of our day. The room I had was a double of a reasonable size and faced away from the road avoiding any road noise. I found the bed excessively soft and it might not suit anyone with back problems. The bathroom had a good size shower but it was in need of some repair/renovation as large areas of mould were visible and had the associated musty smell. A simple shelf in the bathroom would also have been useful to put a toiletry bag on. We ate in the restaurant and bar on all three nights and the food was unexpectedly good and also very good value. Overall, the hotel was a great choice for us due to its convenient location next to the NEC. Value is also pretty good when you factor in the facilities and good restaurant. Some attention to the decor and in-room facilities/comfort is required before they deteriorate any further.

Ashwin's Stay in Arden Hotel

Posted 11-Nov-2016
The hotel is very convenient for NEC and the Rail station . The décor of the building is good. Ashwin enters the reception hall and he is happy to meet the friendly staff and see the Grand Piano welcoming him(which is the best arrangement). The swimming pool is stunning and jacuzi, steam room and sauna are best facilities he uses in the early hours of the morning . He enjoys playing the piano . He likes the room and shower, toilet facilities and the tidiness created by good cleaning staff. He will be happy if it is possible for the hotel to provide a fridge apart from the hot drink facility because he does not drink tea or coffee. May be shuttle service from the station to hotel and from hotel at checkout times to station can help the hotel overall.

Positives: Quiet in terms of other guests and outside noise . Staff friendly. Plenty of parking on site. Food in hotel bar was fine. Negatives: Toilet was poor- flush too weak. Stains on bed valence, not the nest impression. But the actual sheets, pillow cases etc were fine.

Pros: Staff were friendly and professional, which was appreciated.
Cons: Hotel in general is rather dated. It was clean, however, and I got a decent night's sleep.
Location: Not sure.
