I had a single room and it was fine and fit for my needs. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. Happy to recommend and would use again Good parking and convenient for Acocks Green station

Central heathing wasn't working. They gave me portable heather but that needs to be switched off when you go out so room is cold when you get back.

Reasonable 3 star hotel
Functional with good parking, located within 30 minutes of the NEC. Good food portions for the dinner menu, but unnecessarily conservative with the breakfast portions for cooked breakfast items. The Reception desk service is good, but the Restaurant service is very slow and you often have to find someone to get served in the evening on week days.

Hotel is ok and staff are pleasant enough, food is very good and it has a big car park. The only downside is that my room was at the front over looking the main road and the 2 windows wouldn't shut properly so had to put up with some road noise.

Disappointing, staff rude and was overcharged for a room for a colleague which reception were uninterested in sorting out. Van broken into and tools stolen whilst staying as well as area is very deprived according to locals. Recommend to everyone to stay elsewhere.

Poor cleanliness/Unhelpful staff
Toilet in the family room was blocked (full to the brim). Did not notice until around midnight as we had two rooms booked and only used one until late. Reported blockage to reception the following morning. We were moved rooms, but to a lesser value/smaller one. Hotel would not refund the difference.

Friendly Staff, Tired Building
Room was small and close to boiler so really hot (even though rad was off). Lock on window was broken but could open (thankfully). No power socket next to bed. Next door to Acocks Green train station (£2.50 into city centre). Tired building: needs modernisation. Friendly staff made the stay.

Good for business
Very friendly reception. Handy to travel into Birmingham city by train as is next to the station. Close to the airport. Free parking. So easy to do business in Birmingham without having to deal with traffic and parking worries.

Staff were very friendly. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable, although getting to the room was not good as there were a lot of stairs (not great when you've got a bad back/knees. Breakfast was reasonable too. Area, not so great, but didn't really mind as has great links to airport/NEC

Arrived at hotel before 9pm and was disappointed to discover the bar was closed and shuttered. We booked and prepaid for breakfast on check in. Went down at 8:45 to be greated with "you're not here for breakfast are you, the chefs gone home". We were offered cereals and toast and refunded cost of breakfast but not impressed at all. Sign on reception says breakfast available from 730 to 930 so why would chef go home at 830?

the hotel was clean and the stuff was very frendlly and helpfull. however, the hotel is old, ferntuirs old and not very comfortable. no lift to the rooms, so need to cary the suitcase, not so good. the bads are very nerrow and the matress not very comfortable. they are lucky that the stuff is very friendlly and make the stay OK

Nice staff, painful carparking!!
The car parking at this hotel is a total nightmare- badly lit and line markings faded so was hard to find a spot on two nights as people had parked over two spaces. The hotel is really jaded and needs some work, its also the hottest hotel i've ever stayed in, the bar tiny and pipes for lager needed a clean...... however the staff were all really lovely and deserve a mention!!!

Ideal Location
Nice clean hotel with comfortable modern rooms. Free parking is a bonus as the hotel is only a short drive to both the M42 and the city centre.Staff were attentive and helpful

Wanted to visit the German market in the city centre hotel was right next to a station so rather than drive in we were able to jump on the train a took us right into the centre so in all very central to where we wanted to be very good

Not perfect but perfectly pleasant
The shower in my room was stuck on cold, and the receptionist was very helpful and moved me to another room. Temperatures around the building are inconsistent: the first room was overheated but the second was chilly. However, considering the price I still think the hotel was excellent value for money.

A quick snippet
Very handy location for staying close to Central Birmingham as it is literally on the doorstep of Acocks Green. Receptionist who works through the night is very handy as always happy to help. We arrived late on a Saturday night and needed some extra milk for our cups of tea and there was no issue. Room a little bit small but it is cheap and worth the money for the quality and service. Will be returning :)
