Booked a value room, didn't realise it was a glamping pod... But it was great, would happily book it again. Warm cosy and really enjoyed it. Would definitely stay again but fir longer.

Lovely grounds, lovely house, good food

I have to say that the grounds themselves are just beautiful and, had it not been a cold autumnal night, I would have loved to stay in one of the glamping pods. As it was, we stayed in room 1 of the grand house. Check-in was straightforward and we were quickly in our room. I have to say that it was a lot smaller than expected, with very little space around the perimeter of the bed (I have a lovely bruise on my leg as proof) and the door to the bathroom liked a battle before closing. We dined in the onsite restaurant and really enjoyed our meals, in fact, 'overindulged' springs to mind! The restaurant is probably a little overpriced, in my opinion, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and it is part of a larger conference centre so..... The breakfast, which is prepared and served by the house keeping team, was delicious. The Full English is made to order to your specifications (provided on a paper slip the night before) and the breakfast room has great views overlooking the grounds. The lounge area was by far my favourite room, with a beautiful open fireplace and relaxing sofas. I would definitely stay here again but I would look to stay in one of the superior bedrooms or one of the glamping pods outside. It was a bed for the night and served its purpose well. My only real disappointment is that I didn't get to meet the "stinky black dog" who likes to swim in the lake and roam the grounds.
