Mediocre at best.

Posted 30-May-2017
Started with an uninterested staff member, then off to broken elevators (walked 8 flights of stairs), paper thin walls (could hear my neighbours easily), and had stained carpets. Not up to par with any Holiday Inn I've stayed at before.

Nice hotel in centre

Posted 14-May-2017
Terrible allocation of a room, woken up several times in the night by noisy drunk guests. The room was opposite the lift doors and there was nothing in the way of sound proofing

City centre hotel close to conference centre

Posted 27-Mar-2017
Cons: Early morning noise levels.
Location: Was attending conference in the business centre so did not get to visit surrounding area.
Overall stay was OK, however the dustbin lorry at 4am both nights outside the window was now not what I paid for!

Mother's Day treat

Posted 26-Mar-2017 on Hotels
We had a lovely time at the holiday inn,the staff were friendly and very polite, breakfast was great. The only thing that was wrong was the lift was out of order,so may 84 year old mom had to clime up two floors and then walk to the other side of the hotel to get to the service lift as we were on the Sixth floor.

Great hotel for shopping or theatre break.

Posted 21-Mar-2017 on Hotels
Came for a theatre break at The Alexandra. This hotel is really handy for the theatre, bullring, train station and Mailbox with all the attendant restaurants etc. The hotel is really great following its recent upgrade. All the staff are really helpful and friendly. The lady in the downstairs cafe was particularly helpful to a gaggle of 'shopped out' ladies. Only complaint is that the neighbourhood is noisy at club kicking out time, and whilst the hotel can't do anything about that, it could soundproof its windows at the front of the hotel better. Tip: ask for a room at the back, particularly on a weekend. Also, the breakfast at £7.95 if booked before midnight is really great value and beautifully cooked.

Dirty and noisy. I won't recommend it.
