I was impressed by the extent of re-use seen in the walls and seating areas which are constructed from bricks and objects unearthed on the site when Railroad Park construction began. This 19 acre green-space was very well thought out and planned. 600 trees are planted with masses of annual, biennial and perennial flowers. The park is 30% water, complete with a beautiful lake and cool rain curtain that is lit at night with LED lights that change color. As you stroll or jog along the parks trails you will see bio-filtrated wetlands and ponds & streams everywhere all irrigated by onsite wells. As the trees start to mature this will only increase the parks awesomeness. Well Done Birmingham ! The Park is open 7am-11pm daily.
