least period property and surrounding grounds

A lovely period property surrounded by pleasant grounds. The main lounge and bar area were cosy and the service was good. My room was in The Dovecote (a detached building around the rear of the main hall). The bedroom was comfortable as was the bed and the bathroom was fairly modern with a good shower. My only negative was that the burger and chips for dinner served by the hotel were not the high quality that I'd expect from a place like this. My business colleagues steak sandwich was also not up to scratch and was served on sliced white bread rather than the bloomer mentioned in the menu.

The hotel is a lovely old building, we stayed in the Brew House just next to the main building. We had parking right outside our door and the hotel is easy to find. The room was spacious and clean with a really good wet room bathroom, We had breakfast on one morning, the cooked breakfast was good & there is choice of continental too. We ate from the bar menu one night which was really good, generous portions & tasty food. This hotel is clearly very much geared up towards weekend weddings so I would expect weekends to be more lively or noisy but our stay Thursday & Friday nights were quiet with no noise. I would happily stay here again, it took us about 15 minutes to get to the NEC.
