Tiny room and no tea/coffee making facilities. Not great for working in. Not value for money and the fancy app based keycard doesn’t work through Expedia so had to spend longer than normal checking in. Not worth the price.

Hi Christopher, sorry to see this negative feedback. We've made the room sizes and facilities really clear in all our marketing material so guests arrive and their expectations are met. It's hard to know what more we can do. Many of our rooms have tea and coffee in them and there are also hot drinks available at reception for our guests staying in our Sleep and Vista rooms. We also have plenty of larger room types than the budget-friendly option you chose. I'm sorry you won't be back to stay because I feel sure our location combined with a larger room would provide you with everything you need for a brilliant night here. Very contemporary hotel with dark corridors. The double room I booked was ridiculously small. Had to upgrade to an ‘apartment’ - the young blond guy (sorry forgot his name) on the desk was brilliant in facilitating this at reasonable cost and gave excellent customer service. The ‘apartroom’ was great except for the very complicated tv’s which were difficult to operate and the harsh lighting - needed more soft lighting and lamps. Bed lovely, room immaculately clean. Small kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, complimentary porridge and drinks in fridge was a welcome bonus. Area around had no small food shops, although there were quite a few places to eat.

Stayed here several times now the apartment room is fantastic has everything we need & so spacious. The quality of the linen & towels is excellent. The extra snacks & kitchnette area superb. Staff are so friendly & helpful nothing too much trouble. Check out midday or 2pm or 6 pm love it they have thought of everything.

Lovely Experience
This hotel is simply amazing. Really really clean and modern. Only negative is there is no tea in the room but you can buy a cupa downstairs for £1.50.

You stayed in one of our compact Standard rooms, all the photos on the website show them exactly as they are, and also included are dimensions for the room. We have bigger rooms with more storage space and amenities which may have been more to your taste. Some of them also have a different wet room layout which you might prefer. The hotel was brill, within walking distance of the city centre and the rooms were great. The staff we spoke to were lovely and helpful. The phone entry system was really handy.

No frills, ultra clean and modern
Ultra clean, modern hotel - everything is managed from your phone. No frills and rooms are small but for an overnight stay on business it was excellent value.

Great central location
The hotel was perfect for our family event - one night stay over and right in the jewellery quarter. Loved the midday check out too. Gave us a bit more time. Shame about the parking but otherwise a clean and comfortable place to stay.

Stupid lack of switches in the room forcing you to use broken iPads to turn the lights on or off, even opening the doors to the reception/room etc on a phone which works if you have signal but doesn’t work if you’re stuck away in a ground floor room at the back. Solving a problem that doesn’t exist. Bed uncomfortable, shower weak.

Hi Alex, I'm sorry you didn't love your stay with us here at Bloc. The technology we use is modern and post-Covid means there are many fewer touch points in the rooms and around the Hotel which minimise the transmission of germs. If you don't want to use the link that's provided to access your room and its functions, you can always have a physical key that works in the traditional way. We've embraced new technology but recognise that's not going to suit everyone.
