Awesome waterpark amenities

Bed bug problem

I have experienced my worst hotel stay ever at the Big Horn Resort, Billings, MT 59102. Unfortunately, our room was infested with bed bugs. The creatures got out late at night around 2 AM. I saw the first bug on my son's arm while he was asleep. I tried to grab it with a napkin, but it suddenly crawled off his arm down the mattress and got in between the box spring and mattress. Then I saw the second one crawling on the wall near by the mattress. I tried to follow it but it quickly sneaked into the electric outlet on the wall. Probably, the bugs have nested not only in and under the mattress, but also in the electrical conduits where they can use it as a transportation web throughout the hotel rooms. The next thing my wife did was to immediately pack our belongings (hoping that we will not be carrying them home!) while I ran to the reception to inform them of the incident. The receptionist told me that he is the only personnel (!) in the hotel and can not come to check our room because he can not leave his desk for security reasons. Next thing I asked for was a full-refund. He could not do that as well because he had no authorization to process a refund. However, he told that he will inform his manager later in the morning (manager had no phone access during off-hours!). Manager called in the morning and kindly told me that I had a full-refund, excused for the happening and that they will take care of the bugs.

The service was terrific! Thank you for the early check-in and late check-out. We traveled here with our toddler and the staff was incredibly accommodating!

When I checked in the employee was not friendly at all and made it seem like I was bothering him. I'm not sure why this place is called a resort. The rooms are very dated. The lampshades are dark and cracked and not like the pictures online. The chair looked worn and dirty. There were handprints on one of the mirrors in the room which made me wonder how well the room was cleaned. The breakfast was ok. The two good things about this place were the beds (comfortable) and the water park.

The floor was stained. The refrigerator was so filthy dirty that we did not use it to keep our food and beverages cold. The hallways and especially the stairwells smelled of cigarette smoke. The price of the room for the condition of the room and hotel was not appropriate. The reason we booked this room was for the attached indoor water park, which was pretty amazing and fun!
