"The room was spotless. The bathroom was spotless. The bed was comfortable. Our room had its own air conditioner as well as a ceiling fan and table fan. Our private bathroom was across the hall. Bathrobes were provided. EO French Lavender soap, bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were in the bathroom.
Caryn, the innkeeper, gave us a quick tour upon arrival. The smell of breakfast woke me up. Breakfast was served to you. It’s amazing. A keurig, electric tea kettle, tea, granola, and a few other things are available 24/7.
Parking is available behind the inn. The door locks at 9 pm and you are given a cold for access.
It was a lovely stay. I hope to return."
"We had a great stay overall. I guess the only downside was the staff being inattentive. The house keeper was excellent but it was when we went to the pool and the pool bar was closed in late June. Granted there was a sign that said “call this number if pool bar is closed and need service” but we called and left a voicemail and never heard back or had anyone come outside. Also we called to have the fire pit outside the Mansfield house put on and the staff said they would but they did not. And as we waited around the fire pit we noticed multiple powertools with blades and batterypacks attached sitting on an end table by the fire pit. A bit unsafe for small children. And the poison pellet pesticides all over the ground doesn't help either."
"Very well managed facility with good amenities. Bed and piloows above average. Pool and Hot Tub excellent and open until 11pm.
Room layout and furniture placement VG. TV easy to use. 3 hooks in bathroom. Lighting near beds is sub-par. Coffee isn't so good. Butter at breakfast is too cold and doesn't melt.
Will return again."
Capitol Plaza Hotel Montpelier Tapestry Collection by Hilton
8/10 Good
"The hotel was centrally located. Very clean and the staff was friendly. The room was a little tight as was the bathroom but I recognize the hotel is older but well maintained. Their restaurant J Morgan's was very good. Great steaks."
"The room was clean. We had a king suite, it was actually quite large. The hot water was incredibly HOT. I read about this in a previous review. Seriously. it’s dangerous especially for kids. I did talk to the clerk about this. The ice machine was still broke! Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. The clerk at the desk was very nice. He did everything there! He signed you in, did the breakfast, did the landscaping, cleaned the rooms. I thought this was unusual. The hallway did have an unusual smell, incense maybe? Overall I would stay there again. It was quiet!"
