EcoShed - Private Riverfront Getaway. Eco-friendly, pet friendly, close to town

10/10 Excellent
"Oliver was a wonderful host - fresh home-baked bread, butter and milk and a basket of goodies left for us, as well as a welcome sign! My 10 year old immediately felt welcome and excited to be there! The river view from the bedroom was magic in the morning. Bathroom was clean with a lovely shower. We came and went as we pleased and felt very safe. Lots of modern gadgets in the kitchen and a big TV. We enjoyed a few games of Snakes and Ladders before bed. Oliver offered plenty of local knowledge. Next time I’d like to go platypus sightseeing, was disappointed we didn’t have time this trip! Thanks for the hospitality!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Bielsdown Hills?
The best area to stay in Bielsdown Hills for a luxurious and convenient experience is around the Bielsdown Riverfront precinct. This area is the heart of Bielsdown Hills' upscale offerings, known for its picturesque views of the Bielsdown River and the rolling hills beyond. It's home to a selection of boutique hotels and high-end lodges, many offering direct access to the river walk. The main street, Riverbend Drive, is lined with gourmet restaurants, artisan shops, and sophisticated wine bars.Couples looking for a romantic escape will find the Riverfront precinct particularly appealing. Many accommodations here offer private balconies overlooking the water, spa services, and fine dining options, superb for a relaxing and indulgent stay. The evening strolls along the river, with the lights reflecting on the water, are particularly pleasant.Families seeking a comfortable and activity-rich holiday will also appreciate staying near the Riverfront. Several lodges offer larger suites or interconnected rooms, and the proximity to the Bielsdown Parklands provides easy access to playgrounds and open spaces for children.
When is the best time to go to Bielsdown Hills?
The best time to go to Bielsdown Hills is during the shoulder seasons of autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.Autumn offers comfortably mild days, usually ranging from 15°C to 25°C, with cooler evenings. The landscape often takes on beautiful colours as the leaves change, especially in the higher elevations. This season is superb for couples looking for a relaxed escape, perhaps enjoying scenic walks through the national parks or visiting local vineyards without the peak summer rush.Spring also brings agreeable temperatures, typically between 18°C and 28°C, and the region is particularly lush and green with wildflowers in bloom. It's an excellent time for families to visit, as the weather is ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the Bielsdown Gorge or enjoying picnics by the Waterfall Way. The school holidays in spring can bring a few more visitors, but it's generally less busy than summer. While summer (December to February) is popular for its warm, sunny weather, it can get quite hot, often exceeding 30°C, and is the peak tourist season, meaning more people and higher prices.
