"Le Relais" in Roquebrun In a few words This charming old coaching inn is located in the Haut Languedoc Natural National Park, in the historic heart of the picturesque village of Roquebrun. Its southern orientation, with breathtaking views of the Orb Valley, tells you a bright and colorful story throughout the day. The original interior architecture offers, with 180 m2 of living space spread over 4 levels, and its 8 main rooms, pleasant and friendly accommodation for 10 or even 11 people. And some details  A little history It was at the beginning of the 19th century, under the First Empire, that the Post Relay Service was created, which covered the entire territory. Mail was then routed by agents on horseback. To offer the riders of this new administration the “gîte” and the “covered”, in France, a network of relay cottages has been developed, including inns (for catering and rest for riders) and stables (to find fresh horses). The goal is to allow us to go as quickly as possible for the delivery of mail. Thus, at Roquebrun, located some 30 km north of Béziers, near Saint-Chinian, on the banks of the Orb, a post house was erected. These post houses were officially closed in 1873 and then converted into residential houses. Auguste Aragon, who was at that time country guard in Roquebrun, acquired that of his village in 1922\. It was a high-rise, two-story house on a cellar.  The location Proudly located in the heart of this village steeped in history, the central location of this accommodation puts essentials nearby and offers you many perspectives. It is easy and pleasant to walk on foot along the alleys or by the river. Roquebrun is:  A market with its natural local products, a bakery, a grocery store, restaurants ...  Good wine to taste and / or buy.  Administrative services: The town hall and the post office.  The Tourist Office which will inform you about the many sites to discover or events to experience.  The Church with its place and its remarkable panorama.  The Orb, a whitewater river, where swimming in this magical setting is a real pleasure. The canoe and kayak club is likely to provide you with an experience highly charged with adrenaline! Picnic areas, located mainly at the water's edge, will delight the whole family.  The Mediterranean Garden: A subtle stroll in an enchanting floral space. And nearby:  Hiking: Several circuits of the natural park, on foot or by bicycle, are directly accessible from the house.  Le Massif du Caroux "is a boon for nature lovers and hikers and climbers" with the Gorges of Heric.  The house: Renovated recently, it brings all the expected comfort. On the other hand, thanks to its wifi network, accessible from all rooms, it will allow you to stay connected. She understands : On the ground floor:  A kitchen, open onto a dining room, offers you plenty of storage. Redesigned and re-equipped, it is organized in a functional way, so that you can share the pleasure of preparing meals together.  A dining room, with an exotic atmosphere, which allows you to meet to share the pleasures of a pretty table, colorful design "Bali", which allows you to welcome up to 10 guests.  A particularly bright Asian memory lounge. With its large picture window and its terrace open on the Orb valley, it offers you a magnificent natural picture that lives throughout the day. It is also equipped with comfortable furniture, a television and a stereo.  One bedroom, called "Straw", with a double bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, with a small TV and having its own bathroom (sink, WC, shower and spacious bathtub). It also has a balcony with views of the valley. 1st floor:  A room called "Green", with its double bed, its own bathroom (sink, WC, large walk-in shower), which also offers you a wide view overlooking the Orb valley. It also has a small desk, a sitting area, a wardrobe and a storage niche.  A room called "Blue" pleasure from Asia, with a double bed, its own bathroom (sink, WC, walk-in shower) and which also offers a magnificent view of the Orb valley . It is equipped with a storage cabinet and a desk. 2nd floor:  A spacious parental suite, called "Colors", which includes two living areas. The first, with its view over the valley, includes a large 1.6mX2m bed that can be transformed into 2 single 0.8mX2m beds, has its own bathroom (with sink, WC, shower), a TV corner, a refrigerator. The second space also includes 2 single adjoining beds of 0.8mX2m and 1 additional single bed. a play area for children, it also has a wardrobe. La maison est magnifique, hyper équipée, les chambres sont spacieuses et propres. Les pièces à vivre idéales pour accueillir une grande famille. Et la vue sur l'Orb formidable depuis chaque pièce ! Le site est un petit Paradis en lui même, calme et joli. On va se baigner dans l'orb, on se détend sur le balcon, on se balade en pleine nature, on peut aussi exercer différents sports, canoë, Canyoning... L'accueil est discret et chaleureux. La dame qui occupe du gîte nous a bien reçu et nous a donner de bons conseils sur le village, les balades, kanoe.... Agencement du gîte permet d'avoir une bonne intimité ou chacun à son espace chambre parentale avec une cuisine et séjour partagé. La mer est à moins d'une heure de route. Avec une salle de bain pour chaque chambre c'est le top. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut en matiere de vaisselle notamment. La literie est top également. Très belle propriété aménagée avec goût et très fonctionnelle. Tout est pensé pour le bien être du vacancier: mobilier, linge de maison, vaisselle en grand nombre, literie hyper confortable, etc... Je recommande cet hébergement sans réserve aucune. Les bouteilles de la specialité locale "St Chinian" placées sur la table à notre arrivée témoignent elles aussi de l'attention portée par le propriétaire à ses hôtes. Merci Mr Arcaute ##### René H. Pièces à vivre suffisamment spacieuses et lumineuses.. un grand balcon assure une vue panoramique sur le méandre de l'Orb et sa longue chaussée, son pont et les collines avoisinantes, véritable spectacle changeant au fil des heures et du temps.. permettant aussi de profiter pleinement de l'ensoleillement, notamment en hiver, de ce charmant village au micro-climat méditerranéen. Oranges, mandarines, pamplemousses et kumquats ornent les rues et jardins de Roquebrun à Noël, tandis que quelques mimosas précoces commencent à fleurir.. Le vignoble Saint-Chinian Roquebrun se mêle au village.. Dépaysement assuré ! Accueil sympathique. ##### Jean-luc L. L'espace et les multiples points sanitaires rendent le quotidien facile. L'accès se fait par une belle montée mais la vue du balcon compense aisément cet effort ! ##### Camille D.
