Cheap and convenience to visit Berlin centre
Value for money. Room was specious and clean. Service was helpful. Breakfast was limited but ok. Only negative aspect was that the used laundry cages were front of our door. There are free parking around the hotel and safe to park. Berlin was easy to reach by public transport. Receptionist was helpful about all those questions.

We were never able to go because of the coronavirus..... Germany was not letting US tourists in... and it was to be the last night of a month’s trip in Germany before we flew home. The price was non refundable, but every other reservation in Germany refunded our money, as it was not our fault. But this place, would not....and we tried twice, but they would not budge. So forget staying here.

Basic but clean with good Continental breakfast
Difficult to find entrance to Hotel due to scaffolding around building, also sign inside the door was facing inwards not towards street. Reception is on the 1sy floor. Very little English was spoken but if you practice a little German the reception was warmer. We arrived early but were allowed access to the room. The room was very large with very squeaky floorboards due to age of building and was lackinga little TLC. Furniture and furnishings very basic, quilts were not even summer thickness (4.5 TOG) but there were extra quilts in the wardrobe which we used. Toilet has a macerator so very noisy. Towels not very soft (a bit like sandpaper) but clean and replaced daily. No hairdryer provided which is unusual these days and caused some difficulty, we came back earlyfrom sightseeeing one day so that I couldwash my hair and let it dry naturally. Free WiFi is available in the room. Continental breakfast was good and regularly topped up. Yogurts, bread, rolls, cheese, cold meats, hard boiled eggs, jam and marmalade, cereals, fruit salad, tea and coffee were all laid out, do not expect anything like an English breakfast. Supermarket opposite was very good and had a small cafe. The Hotel is handy for bus routes. The Tegel Airport express bus 109 stops about 12/15 minutes walk away. I would recommend purchase of the Berlin Welcome Card as Hotel is not really local to majority of attractions. Transport is easily accessible and gets you into Berlin Central.

Nobody speaks English and no one is at the front desk from 10 pm to 6 am. No air conditioner and no fans. Towels are of rough quality.

I had a reservation for this hotel that I had cancelled through expedia. Apparently due to a glitch in the system, my cancellation hasn’t gone through. So I was charged over $1000 by the hotel, even though I was staying in another hotel. I called them and after a lot of exhausting discussions with them they agreed to pay me $500 back. I tried calling expedia over and over again but there is no actual person I can talk to!!! So I have lost $500 and expedia is not answering me!!

Old building in not so good state of repair. Staff did not seem to care about anything and certainly not welcoming. Small claustrophobic lift installed in 1972 hopefully it has been maintained. No sign of smoke detectors no fire escape plan in rooms or public areas, wooden main staircase need I say more.The en-suite was tiny and waste was handled by a machinater that put out pungent odour when used (hotel put air spray can in the room we soon found out why ) Breakfast OK if there was any space for you in the room. However- location excellent and the wifi seemed to work fine

Basic hotel. Good for spending a night for a family of four with minimal expectations. Bathroom does not have adequate ventilation so need to keep the room window open during day time. They have kept room freshener for this reason I am assuming. Morning breakfast was a plus.

Hotel is well located for trains to the center and for access to Tegel Airport. Hotel itself is tired and in need of a refurbishment. The building has the potential to be impressive with spacious rooms and interesting architecture but it is let down by low cost work done in the past

good value budget hotel.
the location was good, 5 mins walk to U-bahn and 10 mins to S-bahn direct to and from Schonefeld airport without changing. The hotel is what we expected, good value for money. The room was large enough, however the curtains did not cover the windows and the bathroom was very small. The breakfast choice was adequate, the t.v. did not have any english news channel.Free wifi was okay.

Clean, but outdated
Clean hot, but very outdated. No personal available in evenings and therefore no service. Breakfast was very simpel and would have been adequate if the bread wouldn't have been so tough as it was days old. Also WIFI was very instable.

Very pleasant staff; room simple and very comfortable; easy access; felt like I was staying in a local apartment but with the convenience of a hotel. Breakfast good, coffee the best I have ever had. Would book to stay there again on my next visit to Berlin.

The hotel location is good... bit of a walk from the tube station. The receptionist were cold and unhelpful, but I'm guessing this may have been at least partly due to them not being able to speak English. The hotel is old and a bit run down but it's clean. I wouldn't book again but it wasn't terrible, it served it's purpose which was to provide a decent place to rest and shower. Don't expect much more. The breakfast was good.

The overall conditions are not so good
The room conditions are not so good, the bathroom is so small that it is impossible to stand near the basin, which was also quite dirty... Also, Wi-Fi was slow and sometimes not working. The breakfast was OK, and there is an elevator in the building. Also, there was heating in the room.

i loved it. the staff are so friendly and helpful. the lady that helped us spoke perfect english. the breakfast was delicious and our room was HUGE. we had a tripple room and there was more than enough room for all of us. 5 min walk from the metro, bus and train. location is perfect.

A visit to Prague
Very nice staff, who went out of their way to assist me with directions to find it and how to get to my next stop. Room was good, but a little warm (no air conditioning). A bit of trouble with the wireless. Great find for the cost.

Very old hotel in a very precarious condition.
As I arrived at the hotel I realized what kind of place I had gotten myself into. Huge disappointment. I had no idea that this place was so old and unkept. As I walked up the stairs, I could feel the smell of an old building that is not taking care of. Honestly I don't think the Germany city inspections works. The beds had only one sheet to cover the mattress. The pillow was smelly and very flat. The bathroom is inside of the room but is disgusting. The toilet has some sort of box that is connected with the plumbing. Everytime I would flush I wouldn't be able to stand the smell of sewerage. Horrible!!! I had never stayed in such a dump place in my life. There's no air conditioner. You have to leave the window open at night, or else you will suffocate. Next door to the hotel there's a pub where all the drunks hang out at night. And if you leave the window open you can't sleep because they don't stop talking and yelling. Breakfast is offered from 8 to 10 AM. If you're in a budget and you are willing to deal with all that; then I guess people don't have too many choices. But honestly, I prefer to get my own breakfast somewhere else. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Staff not very friendly.

This place is cheap, or at least was when I booked it. Many facilities are basic. But everything is working and service is good. Front rooms can be noisy as the street is very busy. Bus stop not far, same with subway and S-Bahn.

Functional base for sightseeing
I booked this hotel for a 4 day sightseeing trip to Berlin with my two teenage sons. Price was an important factor, as was the availability of a room for 3 people. Not surprisingly, the hotel is located well away from the main tourist spots. The good news, however, is that it is 5 minutes walk from the U-Bahn and 10 minutes from the S-Bahn - both of which lines run direct to all the important areas (the S-Bahn line even has a service direct to Schonefeld Airport). So pretty well located after all. As for the hotel itself, all we needed was a place to sleep at night and eat breakfast in the morning - for which purposes it served just fine. Although the reception desk was mainly unmanned, staff came quickly when summoned. The only slight drawback was that, of the staff I encountered, English was spoken poorly, if at all. I was able to get by with some rusty German, but this hotel may not suit visitors with no German at all.

Bare minimum- but cheap!
This hotel was good for a group of three- it was cheap and the breakfast was great. The staff didn't know how to mark our hotel/U S Bahn stations on the map she gave us but we figured it out. Only a 5 min walk to the trains. When we checked in our room was still in the process of being cleaned so we had to give the key back. Free parking is on the street- no a/c. Not great, but again, cheap!

A good Budget Hotel
This is a very good budget Hotel. The staff are friendly although have only basic English Skills. The hotel although somewhat dated is immaculately clean and well run. There is a metro station aproximately 400m away, there is a supermarket just across the road and it is only 13 Euros in a Taxi and is 15 mins in bus 109 from memor y. I had a very pleasant time there
