This hotel is in a university area...rooms across street from check in...receptionist was lovely...but we would not stay here again...room vvv basic and you would need a car to stay here...too basic.

Nice hotel, payment confusion spoilt stay
Pleasant hotel in good waterfront location, decent bar, nice breakfast. Staff and service were nice but unreliable. When we checked in, the receptionist told us we had paid (by credit card), and then after we had left, they threatened to call the police saying we had not paid. Then when we phoned up to pay, a few days later, they could not find our booking, so the saga continues... Don't you realise that not everyone has the time to spend on the phone and mindless webchats trying to sort out your mistakes?

Great service and food but no gym
Service is really good and the restaurant is great. On the minus side, I almost had to cancel the trip and they would not make any effort on the cancellation policy although I could have become a regular customer. That said the experience once there was really good, so I still would recommend it. The lack of gym is a shame. In summer you can run along the river so I'll probably ise it more seasonally.

Nice Experience - Would Go Again
Seminaris Avendi Hotel Potsdam was a very nice experience. Clean, efficient, and great location. Very competent, and helpful staff. Only minuses: Check in is late at 3pm. Dinner at the restaurant is not really a highlight. Can only recommend the mixed salad, which was very good.

View of the lake was super. Hotel carpets and furniture are a bit tired. Staff was friendly and helpful. Balcony was very disappointing- no seats outside and a long corridor area. Not my idea of a balcony. Breakfast was good.

The hotel was advertised as a 4 star. No fan was available, no access to balcony yet other guests used it, breakfast was self serve, and overall attitude was it is what it is. No offer to make stay better.

They made a point at the front desk to explain how their somewhat strange lock system worked. We still had trouble getting in. But we figured it out eventually. I swear he told me to turn it left, and it was turn it right... Parking was slightly confusing, but there were spots for free on the street. Breakfast was included, and excellent. Nice view of the lake. We were just there for the night before flying out, so not much time to enjoy, but a nice place.

Wonderful
What a fabulous hotel and well worth the upgrade to a lake view! Breakfast was wonderful with a large selection of both hot and cold food. The location was fabulous a super it was across the road from the train station (half an hour on a direct train to Berlin) and a short walk from the tram to take you direct to Potsdam and Sanssouci gardens (which are fabulous). It has a supermarket across the road and an ice cream shop and bakery just down the road.

Peaceful place to renew; request riverfront
Sitting on the terrace for dinner and for breakfast was a highlight of the stay. The convenience of the train station was much appreciated (though the noise at night made it challenging to sleep). Loved the availability of kayak rentals and the waterfront location.

Nice stop off on route
We stopped on route to London and found a lovely interesting area. Hotel was on the lake, nice room great breakfast. We ate across the road in lovely restaurant with great German beer. Will stay again.

I had a very enjoyable stay. The position of the hotel on the lake is outstanding. Rooms are very pleasant, with neutral decoration. All facilities in the room were good.

Well-run hotel
The hotel is clean and well run, with English- speaking front desk staff who are efficient, friendly and helpful. Once you master how to open the room doors (turn green knob away from jamb whilst pulling handle towards you) all is well. The restaurant is good, offering a choice of a la carte or a buffet. The area is "out of the way" but you would choose this location for a reason. No complaints.

Leider wurde nach der Bestätigung der 4 Zimmer, 2 Monate später die Reservierung widerrufen, weil Babelsberg Zimmer gebucht hat. Für mich eine Unverschämtheit, Zusage ist Zusage . Dieses Geschäftsgebaren ist für mich unverständlich. Auch wenn letztendlich Zimmerersatz besorgt wurde, war es extrem ärgerlich.

Wir hatten bereits im Vorfeld alles so gut es geht vorbereitet, um die Unannehmlichkeiten so gering wie möglich zu halten. Die Enttäuschung ist nachvollziehbar und wir entschuldigen uns für den entstandenen Unmut. Die Lage ist schön, der Blick auf den See und die Möglichkeit zum Wassersport, die Nähe zur S -Bahn perfekt. Das Gebäude und Nebengebäude von außen nicht besonders ansprechend, von Innen aber ganz gut, Zimmer ansprechend, Blick auf See zwar toll , aber rechtfertig Aufpreis 20 eur pro Nacht nicht. Auch die Außenanlagen rund um das Hotel sollte gepflegt sein, es lagen 2 Tage lang viele Flyer ( vom Wind wahrscheinlich dorthin getrieben ) auf dem Weg vorm See, einfach kein schöner Anblick, einmal rumgehen ums Haus, aufsammeln, fertig. Frühstück war ansprechend und ausreichend. Also gute Unterkunft, aber zu teuer

Anlass des Aufenthalts war ein Termin an der Universität, der mit einem Kurzurlaub verbunden wurde. Hierfür liegt das Hotel optimal. Ideale Anbindung an den ÖPNV zur Fahrt nach Berlin oder in die Innenstadt von Potsdam. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und qualitativ sehr gut. Die Zimmer sowie das Bad sind sauber und sehr groß.
