Lovely building, lovely room. Windsor is splendid as all know. Breakfast very good . Great hotel BUT ......There is one thing room was crying out for ... double glazing. Lot of noise at night 3/4 am with people outside (Sat night) and then planes to Heathrow first thing in morning. Double glazing needed with laminate glass(with an acoustic layer) - it would make a world of difference as not quiet and spoiled sleep all because of archaic single glazing.This type glazing available for sash windows too so this is not the issue. My firmest recommendation.

Sir Christopher Wren hotel is lovely and comfortable, we had one of the cheapest rooms as a last min booking but it was clean very comfortable and the staff all fabulous ! Really recommend this hotel.

The location is just perfect for everything we had planned to do and we were welcomed so well by the receptionist on arrival and valued as we left the hotel this morning. The late lunch we enjoyed yesterday and breakfast this morning were were excellent and beautifully served. I would certainly stay here if and when Ii am back in Windsor.

Historic building on the banks of the River Thames. Splendid room with great river views. A diverse menu for all times of the day and for every palate. Friendly efficient staff with real interaction. You really feel at home in a relaxed environment. A true pleasure to have stayed here.

We stayed for our anniversary. It was a pleasant stay. Positives: vary clean, comfy bed, great shower, nice breakfast. Negatives: noisy room, parking - we were told that the on site car park was for blue badge holders only. We were then told it was for staff parking and that if guests did stay it would cost £25 a day. The hotel offered parking a little way away, by the railway station for £45 for 3 days. We thought this was a rip off as you can park using the RingGo app for £14.90 for 3 days. Also, the hotel state that they offer the best rates - we booked through Trivago and saved over £100 for the same spec room.

Great location by the river and within easy walking distance of town centre, eton and the castle. Lovely breakfast. Parking was close by, in the station, though was an extra charge. Ltd draught beer choice though in the bar, no bitters or ales on tap, and no cider and the bar does not do cocktails. We did notice cobwebs in the room had not been cleared, cleanliness was not the best in the room

Best in Windsor
Such a beautiful hotel and the staff were amazing, especially Ines. Ines was very helpful during check in and it was lovely to have a warm welcome on Christmas Eve morning. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to so much or even a short drive to everything. The breakfast was also lovely and all the staff were friendly. We got a table right next to the window which was nice and relaxing with a beautiful view. We would definitely go back!!

Good for couples!
Lovely hotel. Rooms are split across multiple buildings and our room was a bit of a trek. The room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. If I had to criticise; it would be the bar closing time. Back from an evening out, a nightcap would have been just the ticket. The breakfast was excellent!!

The worst! Nickel and dimed like mad!
I have never been more disappointed with a hotel stay. When I arrived I was told that I was in an executive room but I could upgrade, for £30 if I wanted a better room. I was also told that I’d have to pay an additional £20 to have my spouse in my room as it was booked for one person. My room was small with a tiny window. My husband’s head actually touched the ceiling in two parts of the room. The “free” breakfast (I’m assuming that’s what the extra £20 was for) was absolutely appalling. (Sour milk, old fruit and eggs sat under lights for hours) Finally, we requested a late checkout at check-in and we’re told that was fine. When I stopped at the front desk to confirm the late check-out after breakfast, I was told I’d be charged £10/hour for the late checkout. There are so many better options in Windsor. Look elsewhere…

An old, traditional English hotel. Excellent overall and in an excellent location, on the Thames, which was well populated with swans. Within a very short walking distance of Eton and Windsor Castle. Only thing it lacked was an elevator to the rooms, at least the one I was staying in. Had to climb 39 steps up and 6 down to reach my room. This was no problem for me, but if you have difficulty climbing stairs you might want to seek a more modern hotel.

This is a nice hotel by the River Thames in quaint surroundings. The rooms are spread out over a number of buildings. Our room was nice but nothing special. There are nicer rooms in the place but it’s not easy to discern where you will be when you book. The breakfast is nice but not at the same standard pre-Covid. Overall rather expensive for what you get.

Room (particularly bathroom) and halls a bit worn - but were adequate. Strong location and customer service offset this. Buffet breakfast a bit underwhelming but dinner was high quality. Front desk - very knowledgeable and helpful (Wendy). Server at dinner (Sandy?) was excellent.

Sir Christopher Wren was a charming hotel. A couple blocks from the castle and town, and just over the bridge next to the hotel to visit Eton. They had a very nice breakfast in the morning. My only issue is that there are no USB ports for phones. My trip to Windsor was an unexpected layover, so I didn't have a plug to fit the British system Luckily, the hotel had a convertor for us.

Nice location by the river Room was not very spacious considering, no room for a bed side table on one side of the bed and the two chairs blocked access to window. No Orange Juice at breakfast It was fine for one night

Noisy outside
The hotel is very nice and well located to explore Windsor and the rooms are clean and comfortable. This visit (we have stayed before) our room faced out to the front of the hotel - non-double glazed windows - and was very noisy with people spilling out from nightclubs and the kebab shop at the end of the street, this went on until 3:30 on the Sunday morning. When we mentioned it to the staff on departure they knew about the problem and said if anyone complained they sent the concierge out to move people away. WHY don't they do this automatically when it is noisy outside??? If guests don't know to complain to reception about it because it isn't mentioned then it should be sorted by staff since it clearly happens a lot. They should have someone clearing people away after midnight and if people won't clear they should inform the police

Wonderful Windsor Stay
We arrived before check-in and we’re not only able to get our room early, we were also upgraded. The location just below the Castle on the river at the footbridge to seton was superb. The room was large and very comfortable with the best bed we’ve experienced on our extended trip. I was disappointed to see small bottles for shampoo, etc.

Location is great but having to park off site & walk heavy luggage to the hotel was inconvenient. The outside of the building has incredible character but the corridors & rooms are completely opposite, very corporate.

A great hotel for a great weekend.
Giving a top rating for our stay may make people think that this was an autobot false review, but it is totally accurate. We had a great stay in a lovely welcoming hotel with friendly staff, a great hotel room, the breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day each day. Also the hotel was in a great location by the river.
