Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. Staff were great and accommodating. Hotel needs attention in it leisure facilities area. But over all we had a lovely time. There’s also a war memorial in the gardens, a great tribute to past students who fought in the Great War.

Hotel and Amenities were GoodIn general everything was very good about our stay. Rooms were clean, food offering was good and the staff were friendly. The only issue we came across was that the room got too hot at night under a thick duvet despite having the air con on which wasn't totally effective.

High Street LocationI have been to Reading for over 40 years and was looking for somewhere different to stay. It is a very short walk from the railway station & the Heathrow bus terminal. Ibis Hotel rooms are much the same the world over and this was no different. Breakfast was good value.

Visiting nearby relatives To be honest it ticked the boxes of having somewhere comfortable to change & sleep, as that's all we needed, although it would have been helpful if both vending machines had stocked up on water as both were out!

Berkshire may have a history dating back to 860 AD and be the birthplace of democracy in the United Kingdom, but it's also one of the most innovative and high-tech counties in England. Clustered around Reading you'll find the UK's very own 'Silicon Valley', as well as a modern market and university town with a splendid museum and ruins of Reading Abbey. So it's no surprise, then, that hotels in Berkshire offer their visitors excellent WiFi facilities, with fast, reliable connectivity that's a boon for both business and leisure travellers. An overnight, weekend or longer stay in a hotel with WiFi in Berkshire lets you keep plugged into while simultaneously get away from the outside world.

Discovering Berkshire's Past

The Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham, West Berkshire is an art museum dedicated to the life and work of Stanley Spencer. The art museum opened in 1962 and houses of 100 paintings and drawings by the artist. Not only is the museum well worth a visit, but the town of Cookham is too, indeed it was Spencer himself who referred to Cookham as 'a village in Heaven.'

If you like your attractions to be a little more high-tech then the Museum of Berkshire Aviation in Woodley, near the centre of Reading, is well worth a visit. Although small, the museum is home to a number of unique exhibits including a Fairey Jet Gyrodyne a composite of a helicopter and autogyro and a Miles Student twin-seater jet trainer. Shaw House is a 25 minute walk from Newbury town centre and just five minutes from the junction of the M4 and A34. The manor house was built in 1581 by the well-to-do cloth merchant Thomas Dolman. It is associated with King Charles I, was believed to be his headquarters during the Second Battle of Newbury and today stands as a wonderful example of an early symmetrical H-plan Elizabethan mansion. And if you want to know the opening times of all these attractions then pick a Berkshire hotel with WiFi connectivity.
