All good. Breakfast was a little on the cheap side for cooked food for £15, I'd expect things slot more fresher. Thanks

We had a great stay at Donnington Valley. It is a lovely hotel, and a relaxing place to spend time. The spa is excellent. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Ok but not as fabulous as I hoped

The bathroom light flickered, the telephone didn't work (so room service meant walking to the reception) and the patio door (ground floor room) was unlocked when I arrived, meaning my laptop etc was easy pickings. Not that it was stolen, that's not the point. Lastly the massive tele can't comfortably be watched from bed.... Other than that it was nice!

Almost everything perfect. Quiet calm ambience, great pool and excellent service. Large rooms with plenty of space and high quality fittings. However, if you want a cool room at night, I'd recommend steering clear of the top floor, especially towards the Spa end of the building, where a combination of closed corridor doors, lack of air flow and series of hot corridor lighting bulbs make for a sub-tropical feel, replicated in room 348 at least. Of course you could use aircon, if you can deal with the noise it generates.

It’s the 3rd time we have stayed, it’s always a lovely break. This time the room wasn’t ready when we arrived but we were given a free upgrade to a suite for the inconvenience it was amazing. The food was delicious too.

Excellent spa facilities - top notch. Breakfast was also very good, with wide selections. I especially like the smoothie. The only thing that wasn't quite good is the service of hotel reception. They were efficient enough but definitely not service with a smile.

Spa treat

Posted 02-Oct-2017
Pros: Easily accessible, good spa facilities
Cons: Attention to detail (as per my "experience" above.
Room allocation was an issue. I arrived early not expecting to get into the room so asked what the room number would be so as I could charge to it in the meantime - was given the wrong number. When I got to the room it was set up as a double (we booked a twin) Spent half an hour phoning reception, waiting for housekeeping - who had gone home, collecting another room key myself from reception & then having to wait for the Manager who re-arranged the 2nd room which resulted in one bed not having a headboard. All this dressed in a robe - charged to the wrong room - with damp hair as I had a spa treatment booked. Not ideal or particularly relaxing. Despite reducing the temperature on the air conditioning the room remained rather warm all night. When we checked out we had been overcharged on the bar bill which was rectified but without apology. We made it a nice break but without these, maybe seemingly small, points it would have been so much more enjoyable.
