"Clean, welcoming, great location for transport"
Came to Reading on my own to take advantage of the sales, walk around the large pedestrian area and get some work done. The hotel is one 100 meters from the station, Reading-Heathrow buses and local bus drop offs. The Oracle is accessible by foot, as are many international food restaurants, something for everyone with or without kids. The hotel and room were exactly as you expect them to be, that is why I have travelled with this chain of hotels since I was a kid. By that I mean, very well organised space so I could work with the wifi, iron the clothes and relax in a high comfortable bed. Everything worked perfectly. The bath fills up fast, the shower is hot and room service was on time and delicious.

"Great room"
We stayed at the Mercure Newbury Elcot Park Hotel recently whilst attending an event. The price payed was very reasonable and we booked on a room only basis. The hotel looks very classy from the outside but once inside you notice a very grubby carpet leading to the reception and bar area. First impressions are very important and we thought a hotel like this should look smarter. However, Our room was great, spacious with a view over the countryside. It was clean and had a large bed.

"Perfectly satisfactory."
Parking was good. £5 a day was not excessive. Check in staff were friendly and efficient. Room was very nice. It was quiet. The whole place is a little clinical but that is perfectly adequate. Breakfast nothing special. The apple juice was watered down and the environment was rather sterile. Staff helpful and friendly.

    Pocket Guide: Berkshire Accor Hotels

Surrounded by Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to the north, Wiltshire to the west and Hampshire and Surrey to the south, it's a delightful county that's rich in history. Nowadays it combines gentle countryside with pretty villages and market towns, heritage attractions with modern facilities - making it the perfect location for a short break or a longer holiday. Many people visit Berkshire and head for Windsor to see the castle, yet the county also has plenty of other attractions to enjoy and experience too. Stay in an Accor Hotel in Berkshire and explore all that the county has to offer while spending some time in a small, personalised hotel that puts the happiness and comfort of its guests right at the top of the list of priorities.

    Where to Go in Berkshire

Beale Park wildlife park and gardens in Lower Basildon has a fishing lake, narrow gauge diesel railway and model boats as well as being home to a diverse collection of animals such as ring tailed lemurs, wallabies and meerkats. Relax in the Jubilee Water Garden, admire the sculptures or take part in 'Animal Athletics'. Beale Park is a wonderful day out for people of all ages and abilities. Wellington Country Park near Reading is a magnificent country park with 350 acres of woodlands, nature trails and a lake. Highclere was used as the setting for the popular drama Downton Abbey, making it popular with visitors from all over the world.

    Accor Hotels in Berkshire

Accor is a chain, but it really doesn't feel like the usual 'corporate' chain experience. Accor hotels are modern clean and comfortable, but still retain their individuality and character. Rooms are available in a range of sizes including standard, double, twin and deluxe. Facilities include bars, restaurants and health and fitness suites while room service and Wi-Fi is also available.
