We had a fantastic time at this hotel! Great location full of history and easy to access via public transportation. Robin at the front desk deserves the world as he made our stay that much better!

We had very good experiences at this hotel. It was close to the places that we wanted to visit. Lovely lounge area, good choices for breakfast. From 3-5 complimentary coffee and pancakes, very good touch. Light dinner was included as well which was brilliant. Bus to and from the airport stops just outside the hotel. Brilliant hotel I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Bergen for the first time.

Lovely staff, welcoming and helpful. Good food choices for breakfast and light dinner. Superior twin was clean with reasonable sized wardrobe though no other storage. Coat hooks by door. Very comfortable bed with extra pillow. Large desk with kettle and limited coffee and tea options. Bathroom door has opaque glass which is unusual and perhaps not perfect for the body shy person who's sharing the room with a friend. Good hairdryer. Towels could be larger but a well appointed bathroom with a magnifying mirror. Overall a very nice stay and would return. Great location for sight seeing fjord tours and souvenir shopping. Also very near the funicular which offers superb view of bergen.

The property is elegant yet has a casual, relaxed feel. The staff was friendly, patient, and always available to provide advice and assistance. The food served was excellently presented and the options seemed endless. The location was perfect, within walking distance to city central, the information center; where you can book all your excursions, and all the shopping. The steam room and sauna were clean, as well as the rest of the facility. Staying here made our trip to Bergen even better. There is no laundry service available from Friday to Monday and they do not have laundry facilities as Expedia included in the description; being the only set back we encountered with this property. It was a half mile walk to the nearest laundromat and expect to be there for awhile.

Beautifully renovated century old property, excellent breakfast buffet and evening meal along with an opportunity for waffles in the afternoon, all included in the room price. Friendly, professional staff. Bus stop from the airport steps from the door, and taxi service if desired. Lovely lounge area, library, computer space, and bar area. Very quiet area, and quiet nights. Comfortable beds, heated bathroom floors, and kettles in rooms with tea and coffee selections. Guests can view the city from the tower lookout as well. Relaxing, lovely, quiet.

Must stay hotel
This hotel has a warm and welcoming ambience. The staff is courteous and more than happy to help you. We were truly touched when they tried calling to check if they should keep food for us as we were going to checkin late in the night. A warm plate full of nutritious vegetarian food wax all that was needed to make our day most comfortable returning from the chill outside. I would highly recommend staying here as it’s worth the money you spend infact a bit more than one can expect. I’m coming here for sure. Thanks to the receptionist who suggested the names of brown cheese and the local chocolates to take back with us. Truly appreciated and a big thank you for making this one memorable for us.

We loved the light meal at the end of the day. The food was really good and always had healthy options. We enjoyed the breakfast too. We also really enjoyed the sauna and the tower. There was a lot to explore just at the hotel, but the location to the rest of Bergen was also great. We could walk anywhere and the transfers to and from the airport were easy.

Very good stay. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Love the fact that lots of things to do in walking distance. Food was excellent. Looking forward to coming back for a summer visit. I am a middle-aged woman from the US and was traveling alone between Oslo and Bergen. Because of the safe and convenient location of this hotel and its breakfast and dinner buffets, I felt quite at ease. It's beautifully furnished and there are lots of comfortable spaces to relax in. The 360-degree view from the rooftop is great.

Perfect location! Ideal place for exploring Bergen, a lovely town. This hotel is right next to the colorful old homes on the water, and near restaurants. Lovely seating in the main lobby. Huge breakfast and afternoon snack -- free. No dining area, but loads of good restaurants nearby. Room was comfortable and clean.
